The paper based on the theoretical analysis of financial development slowing down multidimensional poverty,we build a theoretical framework for financial development to slow down multidimensional poverty.First, based on 1978-2014 years Chinese 31 provinces(municipalities and autonomous regions)the panel data, construction of economy, information, transportation, housing, environment, health and education of the multidimensional poverty index is the division of financial development for the financial scale, financial structure and financial efficiency, cited the threshold panel regression model, study on financial development under different levels of income slow threshold characteristics of multidimensional poverty.Second into the regression model of panel space, using the robust test the setting method of different spatial weight matrix, the research on financial development multidimensional spatial spillover effects of poverty mitigation. The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)financial development can alleviate multi-dimensional poverty through direct and indirect mechanisms. From the po int of view of the direct mechanism, the financial services provided by rural financial institutions to the rural population, such as financing investment, savings, credit, settlement, financial information consultation and insurance securities, thus affecting the poverty level of the rural population. From the point of view of indirect mechanism, rural internal income distribution, economic growth is restricted by financial development, and the improvement of rural income distribution, economic growth will have an impact on the rights, welfare and income level of the rural poor,so that rural poverty is affected.(2)Through the empirical analysis of threshold effect and regional difference of financial development alleviating multidimensional poverty by threshold panel regression model, the research shows that: from the national level, financial development alleviating multidimensional poverty has significant non-linear threshold characteristics; At the regional level, there are significant regional differences in the multidimensional poverty reduction effects of financial development on eastern, central and western regions.(3)Through the establishment of the spatial panel regression model, using the robustness test method of setting different spatial weight matrix, the paper makes an empirical analysis on the spatial spillover effect of multi-dimensional poverty alleviation in financial development. The research shows that multi-dimensional poverty has significant spatial spillover effect, and the multi-dimensional poverty degree in this province will be restricted not only by the development conditions of this region, but also by the development conditions of adjacent provinces;Financial efficiency and financial scale have significant positive effects on multi-dimensional poverty alleviation in this region, and financial scale has significant spatial spillover effects on multi-dimensional poverty alleviation.Among the non-financial factors, government intervention, economic development and public services have significant spatial spillover effects on multidimensional poverty al eviation. The innovation of this paper lies in:(1)from the perspective of the research content, the research on financial development and poverty alleviation are relatively rare, and mostly research financial development slow linear relationship of poverty, there is little research on the financial development of the different income level nonlinear threshold effect on the mitigation of poverty, reducing financial research on spatial spillover the effect of the poor is even less.(2)From the research methods, the existing studies is the study of time series model and cross section model based on panel threshold regression model and panel regression model is introduced and it is very short.(3)From the point of view of research indicators, most of the poverty indicators are based on one-dimensional economic poverty indicators, there are few comprehensive indicators of economic, information, transportation, housing, ecological environment, health and education, and financial development is divided into financial scale, efficiency and structure.
