More and more companies begain to choose the way of merge to achieve the rapid expansion of business scale,as the globalization progresses,cross-border M & As become more and more mainstream.Nowadays,the Chinese economy is facing an adjustment and under a new normal economy situation,in this context,in order to adapt to the current economic restructuring,seek better development and enhance international influence,many Chinese enterprises have also joined the ranks of crossborder mergers and acquisitions and have gradually become an important force in the world economic development.Effective cross-border mergers and acquisitions can help enterprises enhance international influence,increase business value,access to superior resources and so on.However,the success of cross-border M & A will be affected by many factors,the process before,during,after the M & A are crucial,any failure of any links will lead to the ultimate failure of cross-border mergers and acquisitions.As a typical representative of LED industry and technology-intensive company,Leyard already have a huge influence in China.In addition,the entire process of Leyard's cross-border M&A of Planar Systems in USA has taken an unique M&A plan,has a successful result,which means its case is useful to others in some ways.Therefore,this article selects Leyard's cross-border M&A as a case study,taking background,plan and whole process of whole M&A as a starting point,this article concretely analyzes the reasons for the mergers and acquisitions,the merger methods and the market performance after the acquisition,finally,based on the previous analysis,the possible risks and countermeasures in the later stage of cross-border M&A by Leyard will be briefly explored.At the end of the article,based on the case study,this paper draws some conclusions about the cross-border M&A of Chinese enterprises and provides some suggestions for Leyard and other LED-related technology companies.
