Thanks to the fast development of the economy,especially the IT industry,Africa got a late-stage advantage in e-commerce in recent years.At the same time,the trade scale and pattern between China and Africa are continuing to be optimized with cross-border e-commerce becoming a highlight for the growth of China-Africa trade.However,the cross-border e-commerce cooperation between China and Africa(CECCA)also faces with a lot of challenges in cross-border logistics,mobile payment,and personal training.The core focus of this essay is to analyze the potential of CECCA and give some suggestions on how to overcome these challenges,which will hopefully deliver a profound impact on the future economic cooperation between China and Africa.This paper can be divided into four parts.The first part gives a clear picture of the status quo of the CECCA based on the summaries of the foundations and the current situation of e-commerce in Africa.An in-depth discussion is also made on the necessities of CECCA from the perspectives of politics,trade,and productivity.The second part introduces the major challenges that CECCA are currently faced with,including social security,logistic,payment,culture,and talents.The third part shows that the corporations in the field of infrastructure and information technology between China and Africa,the policies of “Belt and Road initiative” and RMB internationalization have all created new opportunities for CECCA.Furthermore,the cross-border e-commerce trade facilitation index is established in this part to determine the right direction for future cooperation.The conclusion is as follow: countries that have higher index should be the main CECCA partners in the future.The last part gives the suggestions of CECCA from the aspects of logistics,payment,platform optimization and personnel training.
