Since the reform and opening up,China's economy has been developing rapidly, the construction of urbanization has been accelerating, and the level of urbanization has been continuously improved. As new jobs have been added to make cities more prosperous, many socio-economic and environmental problems have emerged.Such as the urban population exceeds the urban load force, urban sprawl, excessive resource consumption, deteriorating ecological environment, traffic congestion and reduced urban land reserves and so on.As the basic unit of the city, the development of the community directly influences the development of the city.In a supporting document of the central city working conference in 2016,a new residential building is proposed to promote the block system, and in principle,no closed residential area should be built. This is the first time that the central hierarchical document reflects and criticizes the long-standing closed community model, which has become a hot topic in the society. There is no doubt that traditional closed community model can make the residents have more intimacy and domain sense because of its relatively independent features. However,in the face of a series of urban problems such as the shortage of urban public resources, urban traffic pressure and so on,it is undeniable that the traditional closed community model will cause a monumental waste of city public resources. As a new type of community construction, community garden is one of the effective ways to alleviate the urban problems such as the lack of cohesion in the city, the lack of cohesion in the community, the lack of communication among neighbors and the deterioration of the urban ecological environment by introducing agriculture into urban community. And because of its good ecological benefit, economic benefit and social benefit, which is attracting more and more people's attention. This paper takes Howard,le corbusier and others' theoretical system of urban agriculture as its origin, and the European and takes the CPUL and food urbanism of American countries as its theoretical basis. On the basis of combing the domestic and foreign research progress on community garden, this paper selected the Seattle P-patch community garden,Latino community gardens in New York City,as well as the domestic Shanghai Chuang Zhi community garden as successful practice cases, and analyzed from the aspects of background, development history, site selection, function division, plant cultivation and management and operation.Aiming at drawing on the successful experience of the practice cases and analyze the deficiencies,so as to provide reference guidance for the development and construction of our community garden in the future.Through the above research, this paper obtains the following conclusions:(1)By introducing agriculture into the city, community garden will guide more urban residents to pay attention to the protection of biodiversity, ecological sustainable development and healthy lifestyle.(2)The construction of community garden comply with the needs of community residents for leisure, communication, learning and other activities. It has become a kind of effective way to build urban shared space.(3)The shareability of community garden is not only reflected on the sharing of open space, but also the sharing of land, water and other resources between human and other living creatures.(4)The construction and orderly operation of community garden can't without cooperation of the government, enterprise, social organizations and community residents(5)There is a significant correlation between the willingness of residents to participate in the community garden and factors such as gender, age, preferences on the community management model, preference of plant landscape style, and the understanding of community garden.
