Commutator is a key component of motors.It is a part of the DC and AC motors acting for the current transformation to keep the motor running continuously and it is used for commutation when the motor runs.According to numerous statistics,more or less,most of motors' burnout has a relationship with the quality of commutators,Enterprise A is a company specializing in developing and producing commutators,of which the products are mainly used in automotive engines and motors.At present,the internal competition in domestic commutator industry has been intensified.Moreover,some enterprises in related industries have started to produce commutators independently.As a result,A is facing the dilemma of shrinking market,lower profits,and stagnant development.Now it has been a urgent task for A to break through the current difficulties and make the development going on.However,like most commutator enterprises in China,A has limited scale,manpower,and financial resources.It has been the greatest problem for A that how to make full use of the limited resources to improve A's competence.This paper is on the subject of the influential factors and countermeasures of commutator enterprises' core competence.With analysis of commutator enterprises' outer environment and quantitative analysis of the influential factors of commutator enterprises core competence,those main influential factors are found.Based on these main influential factors,a comparative analysis of enterprise A and B,which is the benchmarking enterprise in this industry is conducted.Furthermore,countermeasures to improve A's core competence are raised.Firstly,based on the analysis of the outer environment of commutator enterprises and the analysis of the influential factors of the core competence done by domestic and foreign scholars,this paper chooses the-analytic hierarchy process as' the methodology to analyse commutator enterprises' core competence.By analyzing the seven influential factors,which are human resources,corporate culture,innovation capabilities,marketing,strategic management,organizational management and capabilities of production and service,this paper builds a system of first-level and second-level influential factor.Combining expert scoring method in which nine experts in this industry are involved and analytic hierarchy process,the weights of these factors are calculated,and the main influential factors of the commutator enterprises' core competence are finally worked out as human resources allocation,technological improvement,ability of domestic and foreign sales,framework of organizational structure,current system of products'standard,and equipment capabilities.Secondly,in order to analyze the gap between the core competence of A and B better,a comparative analysis is carried out.With the analysis,it is concluded that A's core competence is seriously limited by its relatively simple organizational structure,the low proportion of technical personnel,the low quality of goods that are produced with largest quantity,the less automatic equipments,and low product quality standards,and poor sales volume in both domestic market and export.Finally,based on the problems existing in the core competence of enterprise A,suggestions to improve the competence are proposed,and it is considered that A'.s optimization of human resources.should be speeded up,the improvement on the management structure shall be conducted,the upgrading of production equipment should be accelerated,and the qualifications of enterprise should be improved.
