Since the reform and opening up,driven by the input of general factors of production,China's industry has made great progress and caused serious environmental pollution as well.Based on the experience of developed countries in Europe and the United States,technological progress is one of the effective measures to solve the problem of environmental pollution.It is of great significance to study the influence mechanism and efficiency of technological progress on environmental pollution on solving the serious environmental problems we are facing and promoting the harmonious development in the future.Traditional research holds that technological progress can obviously improve the quality of the environment,while ignorance of it can be one of the main causes of environmental pollution.Some studies take a specific environmental pollutant as the explanatory variable under the test of EKC equation.It proves that technological progress,industrial structure and environmental regulation are the main factors affecting the emission of environmental pollutants.There are some disadvantages in this kind of research.On the one hand,it is unfair to evaluate the environmental quality only by some environmental pollutant emission index.On the other hand,the analysis of specific mechanisms for the application of technological advances on environmental quality was neglected.After statistical analysis of environmental pollution in industrial production in China,all the analysis are based on economic growth theory and welfare economics theory.Firstly,the influence mechanism of technological progress on environmental quality is analyzed theoretically.Secondly,selected the relevant data of our country's industry from 1979 to 2015,analysis of it calculated the total factor productivity quantitative technical progress index through the Solow Economic Growth Model,it also calculated the comprehensive index of environmental pollution in our industrial production as the interpreted variable by entropy method,it constructed the secondary regression model based on the EKC equation and investigated the impact efficiency of our industrial technological progress on environmental quality.Finally,through the analysis of the conclusions,the relevant countermeasures will be made.The results show that between 1979 and 2015,technological progress showed the characteristics of "stage" in promoting China's industrial economic growth.From the source of technological progress,they can be divided into two stages,they are technology introduction and independent research.The mechanism of influence of technological progress on environmental quality is complex.On the one hand,technological advances can directly affect environmental quality and reduce pollutant emissions.On the other hand,technological progress has an indirect impact on environmental quality,but the specific impact is not sure.Therefore,the total effect of technological progress on environmental quality is also uncertain.The results of empirical research are in line with the EKC hypothesis,and the pollution of industrial environment in China today has not reached the inflection point of "U" curve.
