A Study On The Development Of Korean-Russian Trade

Since the establishment of Korea-Russia diplomatic relations in September 1990,economic cooperation between the two countries has progressed rapidly.The fact that Russia's industrial heartland is far away from Korea constituted an additional challenge in building close economic relations between the two nations.Despite the difficulties,Korea and Russia became "near top ten" trading partners.The new economic situation,Korea and Russia two countries show strong development potential.However,the fact is not the case,trade between the two countries and the quality of trade is not high.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the current situation of trade between Korea and Russia,to find out the existing problems and put forward rationalization proposals,which will have a far-reaching impact on promoting the two countries economic development and global economic recovery.After briefly reviewing the development of Korea-Russia trade,this paper analyzes the bilateral trade scale,trade partnership,trade commodity structure,trade integration degree and intra-industry trade index between Korea and Russia.Draws the conclusion that the scale of trade between the two sides does not match the total economy,the trade volume of the two countries is relatively low and very uneven,trade goods are mainly concentrated in industrial semi-finished products and raw materials and other labor-intensive products,the two countries are still at low level of trade integration and in the mechanical and electrical products,agriculture products,mineral products within the industry level of low-level conclusions.Then,the selection of Korea and Russia in 2012 to 2016 the top 16 trade volume of goods using multiple trade index compared the competitiveness of these products.both of them in the main trade products on a competitive advantage.Korea's strong competitiveness of products mainly concentrated in industrial semi-finished products and manufactured goods.and Russia's highly competitive products are agricultural products and raw materials.there in s strong trade complementarity between the two countries.Finally.combined with the status quo of Korea-Russia trade,the existing problems and the main trade products of their respective trade competitiveness,pointed out that Korea and Russia only in the optimization of bilateral trade environment on the basis of continuously improve intra-industry trade,improve trade quality and quantity,While gradually strengthening bilateral trade relations in order to solve the existing bilateral trade problems.Only Korea and Russia cooperate with each other,jointly change the current bilateral trade situation and fully tap the potential of Korea-Russia economic and trade cooperation,can they seize the opportunity of the global economic growth momentum transfer in the world,stand in the new global economic situation and realize the dream of being powerful countries.
