For a country, the trade structure is one of the important parts offoreign trade. It reflects the level of one country's foreign trade, and to acertain extent, the economic strength, the level of domestic industries andthe competitiveness of enterprises. Our new goal of developing ourinternational trade is to change our country from a large trading nation toa powerful one, which depends on the optimizing of trade structure. Thetrade structure between China and Japan, which acts as China's secondlargest trade partner, reflects the level and the competitiveness ofinternational trade. This paper is written in accordance with thosethoughts mentioned above.It can be divided into 3 parts. The first part talks about the forewordsand the theory, including Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, which mentions themeans and thoughts of this research, and introduces some basicknowledge of trade structure and some fruits of the former researchers.The second part, from Chapter 3 to Chapter 4, is about the reality of thetrade structure between China and Japan. The third part, includingChapter 5, is about the strategy for optimizing China's trade structure. The content of each chapter is as follows:Chapter 1, the introduction. This chapter introduces the goal and themeaning of this research, the structure, the difficulties and innovations ofthis paper.Chapter 2, the theoretic introductions of trade structure and theresearch results of Sino-Japan trade.Chapter 3, the analysis of trade structure and competitivenessbetween China and Japan. The chapter first analyzes the trade realitybetween China and Japan both in total amount and in structure, then itanalyzes the comparative advantage and competitiveness using the RCAindex and RNX index. Besides, intra-industry trade between China andJapan is analyzed too.Chapter 4, the analysis of factors that influences the trade structurebetween China and Japan. The chapter analyzes the factors in threeaspects: industrial structure and policies, the economic growth and theFDI from Japan to China.Chapter 5, the countermeasures for optimizing China's foreign tradestructure. This chapter puts forward the strategies for the development ofintra-industry trade and the countermeasures for optimizing the tradestructure of China.
