An Empirical Study On The Effect Of Producer Services Industry On Manufacturing Efficiency In Henan Province

Since the 1980 s,the development of service industries in developed countries such as Europe and the United States has been accelerating.The output value of services has accounted for about 70% of GDP,and the economic form has changed from a manufacturing economy to a service economy.At the same time,the produc ing functions of the service industry are increasingly valued,as a result the productive service industry has developed rapidly.Its output value accounts for about 70% of the service industry.The Manufacturing Industry has inherent endogenous demand for the Producer Service Industry.The Producer Service Industry invests in human capital and knowledge capital in the Manufacturing Industry.It reduces the manufacturing transaction costs,promotes professional division of labor,and builds a good service environment etc.In these ways,Producer Service Industry improves the competitiveness of the Manufacturing Industry,which in turn will promote the production efficiency of the Manufacturing Industry.However,due to the Producer Service Industry in Henan Province started relatively late,its development is comparatively backward,and the overall structure is still not reasonable,which cannot effectively promote the development of the Manufacturing Industry.Therefore,the research on the effect of Producer Service Industry in Henan Province on production efficiency of Manufacturing Industry will help to find a path to improve it,which has important meaning both in theory and reality.This paper focuses on the following two issues:(1)whether the development of Producer Service Industry in Henan Province has increased the production efficiency of Manufacturing Industry;(2)how different sectors of Producer Service Industry works.This paper mainly includes the following five chapters: The first chapter is introduction,expounds the background of the topic and the significance of research,and writes the literature review according to the collected references,explains the research methods of this paper,possible innovations and Inadequacies.The second chapter is the theoretical research related to producer services and manufacturing.The third chapter analyzes the present situation of Manufacturing Industry and Producer Service Industry in Henan Province,including the present situation of development and interaction of the two industries.The fourth chapter is the empirical test,using the panel data of cities in Henan province to check up the impact of Producer Service Industry on production efficiency of Manufacturing Industry.The fifth chapter is the study summary and policy recommendations.The results of the study show that,as a whole,the effect of Producer Service Industry on production efficiency of Manufacturing Industry is positive;from the perspective of sub-industry,the influence of different segments of Producer Service Industry is different.The Wholesale and Retail Trade played a major role in promoting manufacturing efficiency in Henan Province,followed by the Finance,the Information Transmission,Software and Information Technology Services,the Transport,Storage and Post,and the Leasing and Business Services.The role of the Scientific Research and Technical Service is negative and not significant.Maybe it's because scientific research has a lagging effect and its affect in the current period is not obvious.
