Research On Visualization Method Of Progress Uncertainty Of Tasks In Project Management

Many things are associated with uncertainty.Uncertainty may arise from all aspects of people's production and life.It contains multi-aspect characteristics of things.In recent years,research on uncertainty has penetrated into various field,and the visualization of uncertainty has become one of the key issues in the field of visualization.Uncertainty is an important factor that cannot be ignored in project management.Present project management software and methods cannot intuitively represent the uncertainty of the project task progress and the cooperation relation of individuals.This thesis starts with the project time management theory and uncertainty visualization methods,firstly summarizes the uncertainty factors that affect the project schedule and establish the project progress uncertainty model.Then an uncertainty glyph is designed to indicate the progress uncertainty of tasks,the storyline visualization method is combined to show the project staff collaboration.Finally the experimental analysis and visual comparison results show that the visualization method can intuitively performance the progress uncertainty of tasks and cooperation relationship.The main work and contribution of this thesis can be summarized as follows:(1)The visualization methods of uncertainty in project management are summarized and analyzed:Firstly,project time schedule management theory and uncertainty visualization methods are introduced,and then time-uncertainty glyph design and related applications are elaborated,finally,the storyline visual layout algorithm process is described in detail.(2)Progress uncertainty model is proposed:Firstly,the duration of project mission planning is optimized,and the various uncertain factors that affect the progress of the project are defined in detail.Then a progress uncertainty model is established,and various uncertainty glyphs are designed to indicate the uncertainty of task time,and the line style and burn down charts are used to metaphor the staff scheduling uncertainty and personal progress uncertainty.(3)Project task time uncertainty visualization method is proposed:The method uses the Storyline visualization method to visualize the whole progress of the project,and the uncertainty glyphs to present uncertainty factors.Furthermore,a variety of interactive means and multi-views are provided to help users explore and analyze the progress uncertainty of tasks and staff collaboration,multiple color schemes according to the user's color perception preferences are also provided.At last,the comparison with existing time uncertainty visualization method and the result of a user study demonstrate the effectiveness and practicability of the visualization method proposed in this thesis.
