Producer Services Industry Embedded In Manufacturing Industry Transfer: Theoretical Model And Empirical Test

In the 21 st century,the rapid development of economic globalization and transnational corporations has provided a favorable external environment for industrial transfer.The rapid development of the world economy and the continuous increase in the share of the tertiary industry in China's national economy,which indicate that the role of producer services in the national economy continues to deepen.The transfer of manufacturing industries from the eastern coastal areas to the central and western regions will not only be conducive to the adjustment of China's industrial structure,but also conducive to the coordinated development of the economy in the central and western regions.This article starts from the perspective of embedded service industry embedded in the manufacturing industry,discusses how to give full play to the function of the producer service industry in the transfer of the manufacturing industry.On this basis,it discusses the industrial transformation upgrading of the developed regions in eastern China and the eastern and western regions Economic coordination and development issues.This paper based on the existing literature on the interaction between producer services and manufacturing industry,and designs three models,namely scale economy of the producer service industry,the cost of manufacturing industry influenced by the producer service industry and the industrial transfer of the manufacturing service industry based on the extended form of C-D functions.The conclusion shows that economies of scale reduce the production costs of producer service products.Productive service products as intermediate inputs of manufacturing industry reduce the manufacturing cost,which in turn leads to the reduction of manufacturing cost and transaction cost.Thus manufacturing industry in different regions have a comparative advantage,industrial transfer occurred.According to the derivation and conclusion of the theoretical model,this paper constructs a spatial econometric model of the manufacturing service industry embedded in manufacturing industry transfer,and bases on the data of producer service industry and manufacturing industry of 30 provinces and autonomous regions(excluding Tibet)from 2003 to 2015.And this paper makes empirical tests with the spatial measurement method to verify the conclusions of the theoretical model.The measurement results show that the producer service industry as a whole has a certain promotion effect on the transfer of the manufacturing industry.And producer service industry,as an intermediate input product in the manufacturing industry,has a positive impact on the industrial transfer of the manufacturing industry both in the long run and in the short run,which shows that with the deepening of the interaction between producer services and manufacturing industries,the transfer of manufacturing industries has become increasingly prominent.The estimation results also show that producer services specialization and economies of scale have a negative effect on the transfer of manufacturing industries,which is not exactly the same as the conclusions of the theoretical model of this paper.It indicates that the intermediate economy advocated by the new economic geography theory has not realized the forward economy in the downstream industry,which may be related to the blindness of China's producer services in the actual development process and the relative lag in manufacturing development.And the industryrelated or economies of scale effect between productive service industries and manufacturing industries is based on a reasonable proportion of the two and on the basis of coordinated development.The reason for the above conclusion may also be the uncoordinated development of producer services and manufacturing industries.Based on the theoretical and empirical analysis of the abovementioned manufacturing industry embedded manufacturing industry transfer,this paper combined with the development of producer services and the status quo of manufacturing industry transfer in various provinces and cities of our country.In order to promote the development of producer services embedded in manufacturing industry,our country should avoid the uncoordinated development of producer services and manufacturing industries,and focus on supporting and promoting the development of key productive service sectors,giving full play to its economies of scale,so as to promote the coordinated development of all industries in the middle and lower reaches of the industrial chain and promote the rapid development of the regional economy.
