Effect Of Overseas Network Embeddedness And Internationa Learning On Internationali-Zation Performance

Since the 1990s,China through "introduction "to active participation in globalization,has become a beneficiary of globalization.Nevertheless,the passive internationalization can not adapt to the new situation.since 2010 the outbreak of the global financial crisis and the development of information network technology contribute to the formation of global innovation network.Thus,the internationalization of Chinese enterprises is moving from passively embedding to "introduction" strategy of overseas network to the "go out" strategy of actively embedded in overseas networks.The theory of internationalization of enterprises is developing towards more emphasis on inter-enterprise relationship commitment,knowledge accumulation and dynamic network of social capital structure and overseas network embeddedness,host-country institutional context,and international learning capability become the key factors in the growth of internationalization of an enterprise.As a result,the traditional theory of internationalization and the theory of network embeddedness have been difficult to explain the intrinsic mechanism of overseas network embedding to internationalization performance.Based on this,how to effectively embed the overseas network to integrate and learn the knowledge of innovation,has become a research hotspot in recent years.In order to further the research question,Based on the systematic literature review on the research achievements of network embeddedness,international learning and international performance.Based on the theory of internationalization and network embeddedness,This paper takes international learning as the intermediary variable and host-country institutional context as the moderating variable,the theoretical model of the relationship between overseas network embeddedness and internationalization performance is constructed.By conducting the questionnaire survey of 353 export-oriented manufacturing enterprises in China's Yangtze River Delta region,the research results reveal.(1)Based on the results of relevant theoretical research,overseas network embeddedness is divided into two dimensions:overseas network structural embeddedness and overseas network relational embeddedness.Both of these dimensions have positive influence on internationalization performance.Specifically,multinational enterprises could actively embed overseas network structural embeddedness,occupy favorable network position and get rid of the capture status of global value network to win the dominant position in other networks.Through overseas network relational embeddedness,build good relationship with overseas partners,and stress on the quality of relationship to learn and integrate global knowledge and resources.This helps businesses expand their business.(2)overseas network is the internationalization of local network.Many scholars pay attention to the role of overseas network embeddedness through international learning.Therefore,this study continues the research of scholars and studies the mediating effect of international learning.The empirical results show that international learning has a mediating effect on internationalization performance in the dimension of overseas network embeddedness.Specifically,enterprises should pay attention to the cultivation of employees' learning ability,for example,foreign language communication skills,and thoroughly utilize advanced knowledge management platform to actively learn internationalization experiential knowledge.(3)Further,host-country institutional context postitively moderates the relationship between overseas network embeddedness and international learning,and host-country institutional context postitively moderates the relationship between overseas network embeddedness and internationalization performance.Specifically,multinational enterprises could select advanced countries with better institutional context to develop the transnational business and the institutional context is transformed into institutional capacity to strengthen the positive effect of overseas network embeddedness on internationalization performance.The research results provides some theoretical implications for enterprises to promote overseas network embeddedness and international learning to achieve internationalization performance.
