The year 2018 is the fortieth year anniversary of China's reform and opening up.In this period,China's economy has undergone profound changes.China's economy and enterprises have made great achievements in the world.Under such economic background,Chinese enterprises are more and more concerned by researchers.In the study of Chinese enterprises,many scholars have made a strong interest in the corporate culture and leadership style of Chinese enterprises.After studying Chinese enterprises,scholars have found a style of leadership management with Chinese cultural characteristics,that is,paternalistic leadership.For an enterprise,effective leadership is one of the elements of its success,but in the long run,innovation is the source of power for the continuous growth and progress of enterprises.In recent years,China has made brilliant achievements in innovation,high iron,super computer,Alipay,hybrid rice,bike sharing,etc.Innovation has improved the living standards of the people,promoted the continuous development of the national economy,and also benefited other countries.In the fierce economic development wave,only can innovators make progress,become stronger by keep updating themselves,and win the final battle.Once the enterprise is slack,it will lag behind,and the speed of progress will be overtaken.Therefore,both the state and enterprises should speed up innovation and realize that talents are the inexhaustible driving force of innovation.Every leader has to think about how to make every employee have the willingness to innovate and develop their innovative capabilities,and create new achievements.Therefore,this paper studies the influence of paternalistic leadership on employees' innovative performance in Chinese enterprises.Scholars have made some achievements in the study of paternalistic leadership and employee innovation performance respectively.However,there are few studies on the relationship between paternalistic leadership and employee innovation performance,and the influence three dimensions of benevolent leadership,moral leadership and authoritarian leadership on the innovation performance is under discussion.At the same time,some studies have proved that employees with strong self-efficacy will be more likely to have the intention and behavior of innovation.However,in the theoretical field,few scholars take the sense of self-efficacy as an intermediary variable to explore the relationship between paternalistic leadership and employee innovation performance and the internal mechanism.For this reason,this paper builds a theoretical model based on the leadership style theory,self-efficacy theory and innovation theory to explore the relationship between the three types of paternalistic leadership,employee self-efficacy and employee innovation performance,as well as the intermediary role of self-efficacy.In this study,three factors including paternalistic leadership,employee innovation performance and self-efficacy are included in a framework of analysis.(1)the basic assumptions and models of this study are put forward by collating and collecting relevant literature and theory.(2)A questionnaire is formed by the definition and measurement of variables.In the stage of questionnaire data collection,it is not affected by the influence of enterprises,industries and regions.(3)After data collection,SPSS and Amos analysis software were used for data analysis to verify the research hypotheses proposed before.The hypothesis test results show that most of the hypotheses proposed in this study have been verified.That is,paternalistic leadership has a significant impact on employee innovation performance,in which benevolent leadership and moral leadership have a positive and significant impact on employee innovation performance.On the contrary,authoritative leadership has a negative impact on employees' creative performance.Paternalistic leadership and its three dimensions have significant influence on self-efficacy,and benevolence and moral leadership have a significant positive impact on self-efficacy,authoritative leadership has a significant negative impact on self-efficacy;self-efficacy has a significant impact on employee innovation performance;Self efficacy plays a partial intermediary role between paternalistic leadership and employee innovation performance,and between benevolent leadership and employee innovation performance.but it plays a complete intermediary role between moral leadership and employee innovation performance.Self-efficacy plays a partial mediating role between authoritative leadership and employee's innovation performance.These conclusions provide theoretical support for leaders to enhance employee self-efficacy and enhance employee's innovation performance.
