With the shift of the global economy from traditional economy to the“knowledge economy” and “service economy”,the knowledge-intensive business service industry(KIBS)has gradually increased its positive influential effect on the worldwide industry development process. And its role in urban and regional economic growth has become increasingly evident. As we all know, industrial agglomeration is an important form of organization that drives economic growth. Most industrial agglomerations are concentrated in the research of manufacturing industries, and there is little research on knowledge-intensive service industries. This paper makes up for the related deficiencies on the basis of relevant theories. As an important strategic support zone for China's economic development, the Yangtze River Economic Belt urgently needs to find new development support under the background of national economic growth shifts. While the agglomeration of KIBS industries will surely promote the transformation and upgrading of the Yangtze River Economic Belt's industries and promote the sustainable development of the regional economy. Therefore, the study of agglomeration of KIBS industries in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and related issues have important theoretical and practical significance. This study follows the phenomenological-rule-cause research approach, draws on the disciplinary theories of human geography and regional economics, uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, and combines theoretical and empirical analysis to sort through the content of knowledge-intensive service industries.By classifying and reviewing the relevant classical theories of industrial structure, service economy, and industrial agglomeration, this paper has clarified relevant research progress at home and abroad and laid the theoretical foundation for this research. In terms of empirical analysis, the research selects the KIBS industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt as a case study.Using space Gini coefficient andlocation entropy and other research methods, this paper analyzes the agglomeration characteristics of the knowledge-intensive service industry in the Yangtze River Economic Zone, and uses ESDA analysis methods to explore its spatial correlation characteristics. Finally, based on the foregoing theories and research review analysis, combining For the empirical analysis of the KIBS industry clustering characteristics of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, this paper proposes an analysis framework and hypothesis of the factors affecting the knowledge-intensive service industry, and uses a panel data fixed-effects model to aggregate knowledge-intensive service industries that affect the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Various factors were scored Regional and sub-industry empirical tests. The main conclusions of this paper are four points:(1)The agglomeration degree of the KIBS industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is relatively high and has a strong tendency, which is significantly higher than that of manufacturing agglomeration;(2)The agglomeration degree of the KIBS industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has differences about different industries, with the highest concentration of the leasing-business services industry, followed by the scientific research, technical services, and geological exploration industry, with the lowest concentration of financial industry. And the information transmission, computer services and software industry has significantly increased the degree of aggregation over time;(3)From a spatial perspective, the eastern Yangtze River Delta region forms a “high-high” cluster of the KIBS industry. The western region is a “low-low”agglomeration area, and the “low-low” agglomeration area has a decreasing trend;(4)The empirical research results of agglomeration influencing factors show that manufacturing agglomeration, knowledge spillover and external openness have a significant role in promoting the concentration of the KIBS industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. And the level of informatization and government intervention have different influences on the agglomeration of the KIBS industry varies fromindustry to industry and from region to region, which reflects the dual impact of these two factors on the concentration of the KIBS industry.
