Innovation is the soul of a nation's progress,so it is of great practical significance to study creativity.In the current research on creativity,the mainstream research orientation is to study individual's creative thinking,motivation,personality and so on,through individual perspective.Based on this persipective,various methods of measuring creativity(questionnaire and scale-based)have been produced.however,this view bring two big questions.First of all,from the perspective of individual,the research is quite different from the real creation process(teamwork)in real life,and it is also unable to study the creative law of the whole country and provide empirical support for policymakers' innovative policies from the national level.In order to solve this problem,we put forward a new perspective : holistic creativity research based on system methodology.According to the differents of the number of objects,creative research was divided into three levels,namely,individual,group and national creativity(the orientation of horizontal research).Secondly,the methods adopted in individual creativity research have structural problems on internal validity and external validity.This leads to the fact that the conclusions of creative research are hard to be generalized and recognized.This is mainly due to the research object(person's mind)is very uncertain.Therefore,based on the logic of "the material created by human being is the reflection of human's mind",this study suggests that creative research can also study the creations that already have the characteristics of big data.The study further put forward the new research object of creativity which can be divided into three categories: the psychological level of human beings,thelevel of brain mechanism,the material level of creation(the longitudinal research orientation).On the basis of that,the achievement and behavior's characteristics and influencing factors of national creative are studied in detail.Thematic research 1: This study examined the influence of knowledge on national creativity,by taking the number of quotations as the index of the creation(Patent Literature),and found the corresponding Lotka's Law: a small amount of core knowledge(core patent literature)inspired lots of creation;a large number of non core knowledge(non core patent)only inspired the creation of a small amount of creation.Thematic research 2: two impotant concept(the national creative achievements and national creative behavior)were prospected.According to a conclusion of Thematic research 1,they were quantified: the core of the total patent,is the index of national creative achievement having a highly influential;non core patent is the index of the national creative behavior,and through the extraction and calculation for the US patent database data,the corresponding number of quotes as the criteria for partitioning is obtained.Thematic research 3: This study examines the changes in the country's creative achievement and behavior with time.The results show that the changes in achievement and behavior with time follow the exponential distribution.Thematic research 4:This study investigated the relationship between national creative achievement and behavior and found that they have significant correlation.Thematic research 5: The prediction of the national creativity and behavior to the total economic volume is investigated.It is found that the national creative achievements and behaviors can significantly predict the total economic volume of the country.Thematic research 6: a comparative study of creative achievement and behavior between China and the US finds that China's national creative behavior is significantly higher than that of the US,while its creative achievement is significantly lower than that of the US.In summary,the current study put forward a new direction(horizontal and vertical creative research)in the field of creative research,and then,focuses on the basic law of national creativity,first of all,the research found the effect of knowledge on national creative followed Lotka's law;On this basis,new concepts(national creative achievements and behavior)were put forward,the index distribution characteristics of national creative achievement and behavior change with time are also found.The study also found that the national creative achievement and behavior were high correlation;the national creative achievement and behavior can effectively predict the change of the national economic total;one of the key reasons for the difference in economic aggregate between China and the United States is that China's national creative achievements are significantly lower than that of the United States.
