With the deep implementation of the country's innovation-driven development strategy,the issue of innovation and development of SMEs has become the focus of mutual attention in the academic and business communities.Due to constraints on resource conditions such as funds and human resources and lack of professional R&D platforms,there are various difficulties for SMEs to obtain innovative advantages through technological innovation.Through the introduction of mature management concepts,processes and practices,and other non-technical innovation activities to enhance the efficiency of production operations and achieve rapid growth,it has become an important path for many small and medium enterprises to innovate.However,compared with technological innovation,the mechanism of management innovation has not yet been fully demonstrated.How small and medium-sized enterprises should implement management innovation,and the relationship between management innovation and corporate performance still lacks sufficient theoretical and empirical evidence.Through a questionnaire survey of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in the Pearl River Delta Region and through literature research and empirical analysis,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Management innovation implementation has an inverted U-shaped impact on growth performance;(2)Coordination flexibility has positive effects on growth performance.(3)Coordination flexibility plays a full mediating role in the relationship between management innovation implementation and growth performance;(4)Resource flexibility positively regulates the relationship between management innovation and coordination flexibility;(5)Resource flexibility has a negative adjustment relationship between coordination flexibility and growth performance.The study finds that,the implementation of management innovation in SMEs has a “double-edged sword” effect on growth performance,as well as the role of coordinating flexibility in the “booster” of growth performance.At the same time,resource flexibility provides a buffer for SMEs and is a “regulation of the growth of SMEs”.Small and mediumsized enterprises should combine their own resources,rationally promote the implementation of management innovation,take into account the balance between "efficiency" and "benefit",and at the same time pay attention to building up coordination and flexibility in daily operations so as to better respond to environmental changes and promote the growth of enterprises.
