Research On Evaluation Method Of Enterprise Patent Portfolio Value Based On Entropy Weight - TOPSIS

The basis of patent operation is the evaluation of patent value.In the past,more attention was paid to the evaluation of individual patents,but with the development of economic technology,the number of patents increased significantly,and now patent transactions are often in the form of patent portfolio,and don't like a single patent trading in the past.Patent portfolio is often based on the core patent as the center,and then setting up a number of other patents in the periphery,in order to form a more competitive combination of a more competitive.Because the value of the patent portfolio is different from the sum values of the individual patent contained in it,the portfolio increases the value of the core patent by a series of interactions between the patents,this value is reflected in the defense,attack and enlarge Technical protection and so on.Evaluation of the patent portfolio value facilitates the trading of patent assets and helps to understand the technological position of the firm in a particular industry.As the existing patent portfolio value evaluation methods have to rely on the subjectivity of the people,so this article mainly introduces the entropy – TOPSIS to evaluate the value of the enterprise patent portfolio.Firstly,this paper summarizes the relevant literatures on the definition of patent value,and then gives the advantages and disadvantages of the current evaluation method.Then,we analyze the relevant literatures of the current scholars to study the patent evaluation system and extract the indicators to measure the value of the patent portfolio according to the index design principles.Through the research,this paper finally determines the construction of the enterprise patent portfolio value evaluation framework from the quantitative level,the legal level and the technical level.The empirical research part is to select the four companies,such as Apple,Samsung,Huawei and ZTE,to evaluate the value of the patent portfolio of the four companies by using the entropy weightTOPSIS method and use the sales revenue of the four enterprises As a test indicator.The final results found that the value of the four companies patent portfolio in accordance with the order from small to large: Apple,Samsung,Huawei and ZTE.This reflects the evaluation method proposed in this paper can be more accurate evaluation of patent value,and can correct the deviation.
