Most of the domestic resources of copper,molybdenum and cobalt are of complex multi-metal ore with complicated components,serious association,low grade,wide distribution and other characteristics,which make the separation of copper,molybdenum and cobalt ore difficult,thus have drawn mineral researchers'attention for many years.And the consumption of copper,molybdenum and cobalt resource in China is very large,so strengthening the development and utilization of this ore is significant to China.In this paper,the copper oxide ore(containing slime)of the open pit mine in north-extension site of Sichuan Lala Copper Ore Treatment Plant was studied,and mineralogy,research of polymetallic comprehensive utilization,experimental.study of special copper-molybdenum separation,product inspection and recycling of backwater were conducted to recover Cu,Mo,and Co(containing mud).And according to the results of the mineralogy research,compared with the effect of the current processing circuit,the optimum process was recommended to improve the indicators of multi-metal ore beneficial to make full use of the resources and reduce environmental pollution,and obtain greater economic benefits.The process mineralogy research shows that copper is mainly in the forms of copper sulfide,containing a small amount of copper oxide and natural copper.Copper minerals compound with chalcopyrite,chalcocite,digenite,covellite,a small amount of azurite,cuprite and native copper occasionally.The objective minerals are chalcopyrite,chalcocite and digenite,followed by oxidation of the copper minerals.Pyrite is one of the high contents of sulfide ores,as well as the main carrier of cobalt minerals,other minerals like chalcopyrite and magnetite contains are in a very low amount of cobalt,so the objective mineral in this beneficiation is pyrite.Pyrite contains cobalt at a portion of about 0.65%,and only 0.011%of molybdenum.Molybdenite is the carrier of molybdenum,despite the fact that molybdenite is good at mineral floating;the mineral content is too low.thus it is difficult to enrich the molybdenum.Copper,cobalt and molybdenum beneficiation tests were carried out in three technology program research.The first one is "part mixed floating of copper-molybdenum-separation of copper and cobalt from tailings-copper oxide re-selection" program based on the current site of the production process;the second is "full hybrid floating of copper,eobalt and molybdenum-copper oxide re-selection";the third is "full flotation of cobalt mixed sulfide copper-molybdenum ".In the scheme one,the good indicators of four products are available:copper-molybdenum mixed concentrate,secondary copper concentrate(1)secondary copper concentrate(2)cobalt concentrate.Closed-circuit test access to comprehensive copper grade of the three products containing copper concentrate of 24.03%,copper recovery of 82.62%;mixed copper-molybdenum concentrate grade of 0.49%molybdenum,molybdenum recovery of 87.07%;0.56%cobalt,cobalt concentrate,and cobalt recovery at the rate of 70.63%.In the scheme two,three products can be obtained:copper-molybdenum mixed concentrate,secondary copper concentrate,cobalt concentrate.And closed-circuit test won good indicators of two integrated products:copper concentrate assaying 23.72%of Cu,at the recovery of 82.29%;mixed copper-molybdenum concentrate assaying 0.30%of Mo,at the recovery of 84.01%;cobalt concentrate assaying 0.55%of Co,with the recovery of 65.70%.The "full flotation of cobalt mixed sulfide copper-molybdenum " program shows good results in roughing separation,the recovery of the rough copper,cobalt and molybdenum is high,but due to the high floatability differences among variety of copper minerals in the mixed concentrate,when it comes to the process of cobalt separation,partially poor-float-ability copper minerals are vulnerable to depression,and lost in cobalt-containing pyrite,and thus can't effectively achieve the separation of copper and cobalt,neither can get marketable copper and molybdenum mixed concentrates and cobalt concentrate.From the results of the three schemes comparison,it is recommended to use the second scheme.This scheme is relatively simple and easy to operate,and it is convenient for field production management.What's more,it has a strong adaptability to the production of the field backwater,and it is not necessary to increase the mill floating equipment,it can achieve production process of the North expansion oxide ore containing mud on the basis of existing process equipment.Experimental study on separation of copper and molybdenum through the "part mixed floating of copper-molybdenum" process obtained relatively good indicators:copper concentrate assaying 24.14%of Cu,at the recovery of 99.96%;molybdenum concentrate assaying 34.08%of Mo,at the recovery of 91.20%.Relative ore:molybdenum is at the recovery 79.41%,and the total copper recovery is 82.60%(consolidated copper concentrate,secondary copper concentrate 1 and secondary copper concentrate2,the grade.of copper concentrate grade is greater than 24.03 percent integrated).The joint process of experimental research shows that the grade of molybdenum concentrates can be improved by this process,and a qualified molybdenum concentrate can be obtained.The product testing and the backwater test verified the feasibility and applicability of the beneficiation process of copper,molybdenum,and cobalt,and the product quality and the influence of backwater on copper,molybdenum and cobalt are also determined,which would provide the basis guide for the production.
