Phenols are a typical type of organic pollutants in the chemical industry, and they are widely used in my country,of which phenol is the most representative.Phenol wastewater has large discharge, wide pollution and strong toxicity, which will not only cause environmental pollution, but also threaten human health.Activated sludge method is currently the most commonly used method for the treatment of phenol wastewater. It has the advantages of mature technology, simple operation and low cost. However, sometimes the toxicity of phenol will inhibit the activity of microorganisms and make the degradation effect unsatisfactory.Biomass carrier has the advantages of low price and availability of raw materials, reusability and good adsorption performance. Therefore,in order to improve the treatment effect of phenol wastewater,it is necessary to introduce a biomass carrier and activated sludge method to treat phenol wastewater.Biomass carbon aerogel has the advantages of rich pore size, high specific surface area, low density, simple preparation, and low price. In recent years,it has been widely used as a carrier in the field of sewage treatment. In this paper, watermelon peel is used as raw material to prepare watermelon peel biomass carbon aerogel?WCA?material by hydrothermal-freeze drying method, and then the WCA material is activated and modified to obtain KOH/WCA material, and then the KOH/WCA magnetization is changed.Fe3O4/KOH/WCA materials. Both modified materials have rich pore structure and surface functional groups. These properties indicate that KOH/WCA and Fe3O4/KOH/WCA materials have good adsorption properties and can provide space for microorganisms to grow in.Using KOH/WCA and Fe3O4/KOH/WCA materials as carriers, respectively, coupled with activated sludge process to treat phenol wastewater, and studied the effect of treatment time, carrier addition,p H and initial concentration on the removal rate of phenol and COD,and proposed the possible mechanism of carrier-activated sludge coupling treatment of phenol is presented. The results show that when the carrier is KOH/WCA material, the treatment time is 5 h,the carrier addition amount is 15%,the p H is 7,the initial concentration of phenol is 100 mg/L,the removal rate of phenol is89.8%,and the removal rate of COD 82.26%,the removal rate of TOC is 80.8%;when the carrier is Fe3O4/KOH/WCA material, the treatment time is 5 h,the carrier addition amount is 10%,the p H is 7,and the initial concentration of phenol is 100mg/L,the phenol The removal rate is 97.46%,the removal rate of COD is 91.45%,and the removal rate of TOC is 87.42%.Compared with when the carrier is KOH/WCA material, each removal rate has been improved, and the amount of carrier added has been reduced. This is because the magnetic properties of Fe3O4/KOH/WCA can not only increase the specific surface area and pore size of the carrier, but also promote the growth and metabolism of microorganisms in activated sludge.
