Fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether carboxylate?AEC?is a multifunctional green surfactant with the properties of vnon-ionic and anionic surfactants.It has good compatibility,can be mixed with other types of surfactants,has strong anti-ashing ability,etc.,and has good application prospects.Domestic research on this type of surfactant started late,with fewer species and yields.Therefore,it is of great significance to reduce the cost and synthesize high-yield alcohol ether carboxylates.In this paper,three high-yield fatty alcohol ether carboxylate surfactants(by using carboxymethylation method,fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether(AEOn=3,9),sodium hydroxide,and sodium chloroacetate)were synthesized.AEC9Na,AEC3Na).The best process conditions are n?AEO9?:n?Na OH?:n?Cl CH2COONa?=1:0.9:1.5;alkaline reaction time is 2h for primary AEO9,1.5h for secondary AEO9,and 4h for carboxymethylation;reaction temperature is 110?,90?,percent conversion can reach 93.7%of secondary AEO9 and 88.7%of primary AEO9;n?AEO3?:n?Na OH?:n?Cl CH2COONa?=1:1.1:1.3,the reaction temperature is 160°C for alkalization,80°C for carboxymethylation,and reaction time For 3h and 4h,the anion content of the product can reach 88.93%after separation and purification.The infrared spectrum?FTIR?and nuclear magnetic spectrum?1HNMR?of AEC3Na and AEC9Na confirmed the formation of the target products AEC3Na and AEC9Na.This paper also evaluates the physical and chemical properties and application properties of the produced target products AEC3Na and AEC9Na.The experimental results show that the minimum surface tension in hard water is 24.42 m N·m-1.At the same concentration in soft water,AEC3Na has a lower surface tension.When the mass fraction is 1%,the minimum surface tension of the AEC3Na solution is 21.3 m N·m-1,which is lower than the surface tension of commercial AEC9Na,and has better wettability and foam stability.The average wetting time is 2.64s;in soft water,when the mass fraction of AEC9Na is 1.2%,the surface tension of the primary AEC9Na is24.2 m N·m-1,the secondary AEC9Na is 23.9 m N·m-1,and the foaming properties of the primary AEC9Na become better,the foam is the most stable,and the commercial AEC9Na has poor foam stability.The primary AEC9Na has the smallest average particle size,more uniform particles and better stability.In addition,AECNa has good dispersibility and antistatic property,which can significantly improve the dispersibility of chopped high-strength and high-density vinylon fibers in water;simultaneously,primary AEC9Na,secondary AEC9Na and AEC3Na can reduce the specific resistance of polyester staple fibers to 6.5×106?·cm?3.8×106?·cm and1.2×106?·cm respectively,suggesting the production has the potential to be widely employed as an anionic surfactant.
