Cotton fabrics are widely used in life.With the improvement of people's living standards,the materials of people's clothing and daily necessities have gradually developed from artificial synthesis to pure nature.However,the limit oxygen value of cotton fabrics is only 18.4%,which is flammable.Therefore,flame retardants applied to cotton fabrics came into being.The flame retardants currently applied to cotton fibers are generally non-durable or semi-durable flame retardants.As the number of washing cycles increases,the flame retardant properties disappear.Based on phosphorus-nitrogen flame retardants,this subject synthesizes three coordinated chelating phosphorus-nitrogen-boron synergistic flame retardants.The cotton fabrics washed with the three flame retardants are washed fifty times.Later,vertical combustion test,thermogravimetric test,cone calorimetry test and limit oxygen index test were performed to prove that the flame retardant applied to cotton fabrics has durable flame retardant properties.The three types of coordination chelating phosphorus-nitrogen-boron synergistic flame retardants are DBU(Diethylenetriaminepenta(methylenephosphonic)acid-Boric acid-Urea-synergistic flame retardant),and ABUP(Amino Trimethylene Phosphonic Acid-Boric acid-UreaPentaerythritol synergistic flame retardant)and PBA(Phosphorus-Boron-Nitride synergistic flame retardant).The limiting oxygen index of cotton fabrics is 18.4%,which is a flammable fiber.Cotton fabrics treated with PBA-30 were washed fifty times,cotton fabrics treated with ABUP-90 were washed fifty times,and cotton fabrics treated with DBU-90 were washed five times.The limit oxygen index values of the ten tests were 37.6%,29.7% and 30.3%,respectively,which belonged to flame-resistant fibers.The XPS and electron microscopy tests were performed on cotton fibers treated with three flame retardants after washing fifty times and after burning.The three flame retardants are embedded flame retardants.The burned cotton fibers are compared by electron microscopy.Cotton fibers and unburned finished cotton fibers can be found in the flame retardants embedded in the cotton fibers,which will decompose when exposed to heat to release non-flammable gases,while protecting the integrity of the cotton fiber structure.The thermogravimetric-infrared combined verification confirmed that the flame retardant mechanism of the flame retardant mainly relies on phosphorus and nitrogen to exert the main flame retardanteffect,and boron element increases the carbon formation rate of cotton fibers and exerts a synergistic effect.According to the performance test analysis of the flame retardant application and cotton fiber,it can be concluded that the three coordination chelated phosphorus-nitrogen-boron synergistic flame retardants are new flame retardants and provide the flame retardant development.A new idea,while these three flame retardants have good flame retardant properties.
