With the development of the machinery industry,the requirements for gear transmissions have become higher and higher,and the gears are required to have high bearing capacity,high rotation speed,high efficiency,low noise,small size,and light weight.Arc gears have the advantages of high bearing capacity,long service life,high efficiency and circular arc gears have high contact strength and bending strength due to their tooth profile characteristics.The circular arc gear is a point-engaged gear transmission,and the rolling transmission is realized by the axial movement of the contact trace.So,it is totally different from the traditional,wire meshing involute gearing.Therefore,there are not only different considerations and calculation methods in design,but also special requirements in various aspects such as manufacturing,testing,installation,and use.Good results can only be achieved if the quality of the design,manufacture,installation and use is fully guaranteed.If only the application experience of the involute gear is applied,the early failure of the arc gear will be induced.In 1958,China developed and used single circular arc gears.In the 60's,it developed double circular arc gears.Its bearing capacity has been greatly improved compared to single circular arc gears.Over the past decades,many universities,research institutes,and factories have conducted a lot of theoretical and experimental research on circular arc gears and have made gratifying achievements.Circular arc gears have been widely used in mining,metallurgy,petrochemical,power generation,oxygen production,shipbuilding and lifting and other mechanical equipment.This paper briefly introduces the basic meshing principle,tooth design,tooth root bending strength check and tooth surface contact.The paper focuses on the parametric design system based on SolidWorks double circular arc gears,which mainly includes the design flow of double circular arc and double circular arc bevel gear.The system can not only achieve the basic parameter calculation of double circular arc gears,but also include the tooth shape output and parameter checking modules.The dynamic simulation and finite element contact analysis of the generated double circular arc gears are applied to the gears.Finally,the double circular arc gears are calculated from parameter calculation to strength check and simulation analysis.A complete system for practical application.
