The belt conveyor is a continuous transportation equipment in modern production.It has the advantages of large transportation volume,long transportation distance,low energy consumption,low freight rate and high efficiency.It is widely used in ports,coal,mining and other fields.Since the cross section of the upper surface of the conveyor belt of the belt conveyor is curved,when it is raining or sprinkling and dusting in an open environment,the upper surface of the conveyor belt of the belt conveyor is prone to water accumulation.When the surface area of the conveyor belt have water,the belt conveyor will cause the transportation materials to spill when it is transported and increase the moisture of the transportation materials if it is not cleaned.What's more,If the coal is transported,the heat will be reduced.Therefore,it is necessary to clean the surface water on the conveyor belt before starting the transportation of the materials.At present,the belt conveyor monitoring system does not have the function of automatic detection and cleaning of accumulated water.The method of cleaning up the accumulated water is to open the water cleaning device regardless of whether there is accumulated water on the upper surface,and the belt conveyor can be transported after one run;or manually detect the accumulated water,when it is found that there is water on the upper surface of the conveyor belt,turn on the water cleaning device,and clean the accumulated water before transporting the material.The above method affects the service life of the belt conveyor,consumes electric energy,and increases the workload.This thesis proposes a conveyor belt water detection method based on machine vision in the belt conveyor monitoring system.The Ethernet industrial area array camera is used to collect the upper surface image of the conveyor belt and transmitted to the belt conveyor monitoring system through Ethernet.The upper computer processes the upper surface image of the conveyor belt,and uses the water accumulation detection algorithm to detect the accumulated water on the upper surface of the conveyor belt and calculate the water accumulation area.When the water accumulation area exceeds the set value,the water storage cleaning device is controlled to clean the accumulated water.The real-time detection of the water in the conveyor belt and the control of the water storage cleaning device are realized.The image preprocessing algorithm is studied,and the preprocessing algorithm of the upper surface image of the conveyor belt is given to improve the image quality.Adaptive threshold water surface area detection and water accumulation area calculation algorithm.By defining the region of interest to obtain the segmentation image of the upper surface of the conveyor belt,calculate the pixel mean value of the upper surface of the conveyor belt as the adaptive threshold,and use the brightness characteristics of the accumulated water.Divide the water accumulation area in the image by adaptive threshold,and calculate the water accumulation area according to the contour of the water accumulation area The communication software of industrial area array camera and host computer was programmed by UDP/IP protocol and GigE Vision protocol,and the communication between industrial area array camera and host computer was realized.The upper computer water detection software was written by OpenC V image algorithm library and C++.An experimental platform for detecting water in conveyor belts was built and experiments were carried out.The experimental results show that the water detection scheme and algorithm realize real-time detection of water in conveyor belts in belt conveyors,calculation of water accumulation area and control of water accumulation cleaning device.The function of clearing the water is improved,the service life of the belt conveyor is improved,the energy consumption is reduced,and the workload is reduced.The water detection technology studied in this paper can be used in Ethernet-based belt conveyor monitoring system,which has the advantages of good real-time performance and high accuracy,and has broad application prospects in ports,coal,mining and other fields.
