Study on the rheological properties is a prerequisite for clayey foundations' settlement calculation and the prediction of its post-construction settlement After extensive researches and analyses of previous scholars, the basic theory of rheology of the clay has made a lot of progress, whereas the theory still cannot deal with every problem because the c lay is regional and has many uncertainties. So the rheological properties of clay still need further exploration and verification.Adopt one kind of clay in Henan which is made in different remolded saturated samples with different porosity ratios, and conduct one-dimensional rheological consolidation tests with Conventional load rating which is 1.Using primary consolidation and secondary consolidation as two-stage unrelated, study the variation of secondary consolidation coefficient. The experimental results showed that:1)the higher the compressibility of the sample is,the stronger the rheology behave, and the more obvious cut-off point of the primary and secondary consolidation is;2)the secondary consolidation coefficient decreases with the increase of consolidation pressure of samples in normal consolidation state, and the secondary consolidation coefficient increases with the increase of consolidation pressure of samples in over-consolidated condition, then the maximum of appeared near the preconsolidation pressure of sample.3)the rheological properties of the samples of over-consolidated are significantly weaker than the samples of normally consolidated.
