This paper was concentrated on the precise charging process in large-scale warhead with respect to the RDX-based melt cast explosives.The main objectives included the defects formation mechanism and their elimination,the process optimization design of the RDX-based melt cast explosives,the precise block casting method and the designation of melt-cast safety in large scale charge.Based on this paper,the conclusions would be taken as below.Firstly,the formation of the drawbacks to the RDX-based melt cast explosives came from the volume shrink of matrix such as TNT and DNAN resulting in mico cracks and cavities,and the gas wrapped from outside in the process would alse produce small cavities.Accordingly,reducing thermal stress in the charge could eliminate kinds of cracks,the melt-cast slurry kept complementing in the process of mitrix solidification which could prevent the shrinkage cavity formation,and the gas cavities would be controlled by the effective gas removal measures.Secondly,the appropriate RDX particles,characterized by some certain diameter,smooth surface and orbicular or similarly orbicular,would be selected and graded by bi-modal and tri-modal mixtures to improve the viscosity and the quality of charge.Thirdly,the influence grades of process parameters on the charge quality would be ranked according to the orthogonal experiment,R?time?>R?vacuum?>R?temperature?,and then the optimal process conditions were determined as the slurry handling 15min,the vacuum-0.090MPa and the temperature 95?.Fourthly,the preshaping and synchronous block-molded casting technique was developed to reduce the charge defects by a long way compared with the traditional block-molded method,and the density of charge reached up to 1.726g·cm-33 and the relative density to 95.8%,higher 0.041g·cm-3 and 2.2%than the traditional one respectively.Finally,the process safety of RDX-based melt cast explosives was analyzed to find the risk factors and its classifaction.By means of the numerical simulation and experimental,the influence factors were analyzed,tested and researched with relation to the explosive intrinsic safety,compatibility,heat stimuli and so on,additionally,analyzed with the local process parameters comparatively the results and methods of process safety were obtained to provide technical guide and reference in large-scale charge.
