As an emerging professional or educational subject,management science was introduced into China from the West and took root in Chinese colleges and universities.Shanghai Jiao Tong University is the earliest,and its development has a long history.Nanyang Public School,the predecessor of Jiao Tong University,set up political classes,business schools and business junior colleges at the beginning of its establishment,which became the beginning of the development of economics and management science of Jiao Tong University.In view of the fact that the management of China's transportation business and the transportation business of the business sector are occupied by individuals,all institutional facilities,materials,personnel and management principles in the transportation business are profiteering,and long-term development will inevitably affect the national economy and people's livelihood.Became the first priority of the development of transportation at that time.In 1918,under the vigorous promotion of the principal,Mr.Tang Wenzhi,Jiao Tong University established a specialty in railway management,with the purpose of "bringing up stateowned railway talents in management".The course setting and the arrangement of the course content surpassed the undergraduate education of general universities at that time,especially the related courses on railway management were the first in China.Teachers have profound knowledge and earnest teaching,as well as strict academic control,so the quality of their students is also high.The establishment of the Railway Management Department marks the formal establishment of the management discipline of Jiao Tong University.At the same time,it has also created a professional development path combining engineering education and management in universities across the country.In the 1920 s and 1930 s,with the introduction of American Taylor's "Principles of Scientific Management" to China,management science took root and developed in the field of education in China.Under the influence of the social environment and the initiative of the Ministry of Education of the National Government,in order to cultivate high-level management talents,some well-known universities have set up business courses,and the courses of "Business Administration" and "Factory Management" have gradually increased.In this period,the Railway Management Department was expanded from a department to a school.In 1928,the National Jiao Tong University first established the Railway Management School.Two years later it developed into the School of Management.It has financial management,railway management,official management and industrial management departments.Undergraduate level management education.In terms of running schools,we attach importance to basic theory teaching and basic skill training,emphasizing the integration of theory with practice,applying knowledge to practice,and strict requirements for students and strict assessment.In academic research,the development of the Economic Society has promoted the spread and popularization of scientific management knowledge and promoted the development of the scientific management movement.While studying in their studies,students can also serve the torrent of the times with enthusiasm.When the country was in peril,the teachers and students of the School of Management resolutely stood at the forefront;facing the vigorous development of the patriotic democratic movement,they stood up and entered the ranks of the revolution.Under the leadership of Dean Zhong Weicheng,the School of Management of Jiao Tong University,which experienced the baptism of war,developed rapidly and became the only School of Management in China and even Asia in the first half of the 20 th century.After the founding of New China,the former "democratic bastion" shouldered the important task of training socialist builders.At this stage,the teachers and students of the School of Management began to learn the education experience of the former Soviet Union,transforming the old education system,education system and teaching methods.But the faculty adjustments that began in 1951 caused the School of Management of Jiao Tong University to fall apart and no longer exist.The history of the School of Management has come to an end.From the formation,development and demise of the School of Management,we can see that the changes in the social political system and economic development directly affect the rise and fall of the management discipline,and the adjustment of the faculty in the early years of the founding of the People's Republic of China accelerated the development of this process.
