The research on international land use gradually has transformed from land use/cover change(LUCC)to global land plan(GLP),and then to land change science(LCS)developed from the first two in recent years.Since the 1990 s,the researches on land use transition has emerged and gradually developed into the hotspots of scientific community of current land change. With the development of Rural Revitalization Strategy and the promotion of structural reform of agricultural supply side in China, cultivated land is the most important and variable land use type in rural areas. It is of great theoretical and practical significance to explore cultivated land use transition for realizing sustainable economic and social development and the new socialism village construction in China. The main research contents are as follows:(1)based on the theory of land use transition,we profoundly understood the concept connotation of land use transition, and analyzed the relationship and the similarities and differences between cultivated land use transition and related concepts and employed multi-disciplinary perspective and research methods to build a comprehensive theoretical analysis framework about the influencing factors of cultivated land use transition.(2)four Landsat TM images(respectively obtained in 1990,2000,2010 and 2015)in Shandong Province were interpreted as basic information sources, and then the transition process of cultivated land use, trajectory and the spatial autocorrelation process map in three periods were synthesized through the use of the theory and methods of land use transition,Geo-spectrum,GIS and ESDA,furthermore, this study revealed the characteristics of spatial and functional morphology transition of cultivated land use in Shandong Province.(3)Through the combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis, this paper explored the influencing factors and mechanism of cultivated land use transition and put forward the countermeasures and suggestions for the transition optimization of regional cultivated land use.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:1)Characteristics of spatial morphology transition of cultivated land use: cultivated land reduction during 1990-2000 showed mainly in the the transition processes from cultivated land to construction land and to water areas in the spatial pattern while the expansion of cultivated land was mainly reflected in the transition from water area and unused land to cultivated land.During 2000-2010,there was an obvious East-West point-axis transition zone in the transition process from cultivated land to construction land while during 2010-2015 the transition types in cultivated land use was the most abundant in Binzhou.in the past 25 years, the transition from cultivated land to construction land was more active during 1990-2000,and the area of stable cultivated land was the largest and showed a significant downward trend.Since 1990,the trajectory of cultivated land expansion has shown a greater dependence on water areas. The reduced cultivated land was mainly distributed in the semi-urbanized area between stable non-cultivated land and the stable cultivated land.2)Characteristics of functional morphology transition of cultivated land use: during 1990-2015,the functional morphology of cultivated land has changed from weak negative correlation to weak positive correlation in space. Moreover, the different types of functional morphology of cultivated land led to great internal differences. In the first two 10 years, the spatial agglomeration of production function transition was a dominical part of cultivated land in Shandong Province, and the spatial correlation of transition between ecological and life functions was not strong. The spatial autocorrelation of production function was relatively weak during 2010-2015 while the spatial autocorrelation between ecological and life function has become the most significant spatial cluster type.3)Transition stage and trend of cultivated land use in Shandong Province: there were still conflicts in the ideological pattern of land use in Shandong Province during 1990-2015.The transition of cultivated land use was in a transitional period from sustained rapid reduction to slow reduction, and it has not reached the turning point of transformational stagnation yet.The most obvious trend of cultivated land reduction was the transition from cultivated land to construction land, which was markedly represented by the "ring" transition zone around administrative centers at all levels. The spatial autocorrelation of production function showed a declining trend.Furthermore, the transition of cultivated land function was from function-oriented to the spatial agglomeration of ecological and life functions.4)The influencing factors of the spatial morphology transition in cultivated land use: the transition of cultivated land use was jointly drive by natural factors, social and economic factors, traffic location factors and land management factors.Different factors had different driving effects on different type transitions of cultivated land use,and the driving mechanism in different time stages was also different. The transition of cultivated land to construction land was mainly related to traffic location and socio-economic factors. The more convenient the transportation, the better the economic development and the higher the urbanization rate there were, the more likely the transition process from cultivated land to construction land was to occur. However, the influence of natural geographical factors on the transition of cultivated land to construction land was relatively weak.5)The influencing factors of the functional morphology transition in cultivated land use: Land management factors, such as national system and policy, and government behavior, had the greatest impact on the transition process of production function morphology during 1990-2000 and 2000-2010,which mainly showed that the spatial agglomeration characteristics of functional morphology transition were remarkable and relatively stable. The Spatio-temporal pattern of ecological function transition revealed that the higher the agriculture was,the more obvious the high-value agglomeration was.The life functional transition in cultivated land use was negatively correlated with the level of regional social and economic development, which is mainly due to the large number of rural labor force attracted by cities and towns. The transition trend of rural collective land represented by cultivated land to multi-functional land began to appear, such as the transition type of cultivated land to tourism and leisure land.
