Objective:To observe the clinical effect of extracorporeal shock wave therapy(ESWT)on the rehabilitation process after arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)reconstruction. Methods: Fifty-two patients undergoing arthroscopic ACL reconstruction from September 2016 to December 2018 were randomly divided into two groups,26 in each group. The patients in the experimental group received extracorporeal shock wave intervention during rehabilitation. The patients in the control group received the same treatment as those in the experimental group except for no shock wave intervention. The patients in both groups chose autologous semitendinous gracilis tendon as the graft. The Lysholm score and IKDC score of knee joint were measured and recorded before and 1,3 and 6 months after operation. The differences of test results between the two groups were compared and analyzed. Results : The Lysholm score and IKDC score of the affected knee of the two groups were significantly improved after 1 month,3 months and 6 months(P < 0.01).Compared with the control group, the Lysholm score of the affected knee of the experimental group was significantly different after 1 month,3 months and 6 months(P< 0.05).Compared with the control group, the IKDC score of the affected knee of the experimental group was better than that of the control group one month after operation.Group B(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in IKDC score of affected knee joint between shock wave group and control group at 3 months and 6 months after operation(P > 0.05).It is suggested that the knee joint function recovers faster in the stump-retaining group. There is still a difference in Lysholm score between the experimental group and the control group from 6 months after operation, but there is no statistical significance in IKDC score between the experimental group and the control group from 3 months. The Lysholm score and IKDC score of the affected knee of the two groups were significantly improved after 1 month,3 months and 6 months(P <0.01).Compared with the control group, the Lysholm score of the affected knee of theexperimental group was significantly different after 1 month,3 months and 6 months(P< 0.05).Compared with the control group, the IKDC score of the affected knee of the experimental group was better than that of the control group one month after operation.Group B(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in IKDC score of affected knee joint between shock wave group and control group at 3 months and 6 months after operation(P > 0.05).It is suggested that the knee joint function recovers faster in the extracorporeal shock wave group. There is still a difference in Lysholm score between the experimental group and the control group from 6 months after operation, but there is no significant difference in IKDC score between the experimental group and the control group from 3 months. Conclusion: Extracorporeal shock wave technique can significantly improve the subjective Lysholm score and IKDC score after ACL reconstruction of autologous tendon graft, and can significantly accelerate the process of functional rehabilitation within 3 months after operation.
