Objective: To evaluate the effect of fleece-flower root hormone-reducing granules on the patients with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)using a large dosage of hormone.Methods: A total of 35 SLE patients who met the inclusion criteria were selected and randomly divided into experimental group and control group.The control group received the treatment consisting of prednisone(?0.5mg/Kg)plus cyclophosphamide(0.4g/2w).In addition to the same standard treatment,the experimental group additionally took fleece-flower root hormone-reducing granules for 3 months as a cycle.TCM syndrome score,waist-hip ratio(WHR)and body mass index and was observed before and after treatment for each group.The intervention effect of fleece-flower root hormone-reducing granules on the side effects of hormone was evaluated.SLE disease activity index(SLEDAI)score,erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),C-reactive protein,complement C3 and complement C4 were used to evaluate the therapeutic effect of fleece-flower root hormone-reducing granules.As well as,comparing the amount of hormone withdrawal between the two groups.Also,its safety was evaluated based on hepatic and renal function tests,blood routine test and urine routine test.Results: A total of 35 cases were enrolled.3 of them dropped out of the study,and 32 cases completed the study,including 17 in the experimental group and 15 in the control group.Intervention on the side effects of hormone: The two groups showed no statistically significant differences in sex,age,TCM syndrome score,WHR,BMI and hormone dosage before treatment(P>0.05),and these parameters of the two groups were comparable.The effective rates of TCM score of the experimental group and the control group after treatment were 41.18% and 6.67% respectively,showing a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The two groups showed statistically significant differences in TCM syndrome score and the symptoms of feverishness in palms and soles,dry mouth,night sweat and constipation after treatment(P<0.05)and WHR(P<0.05),but showed nostatistically significant difference in BMI(P>0.05).Therapeutic effect for SLE: Before treatment,the two groups showed no statistically significant differences in sex,age,course of disease,SLEDAI score,ESR,CRP,complement C3 and complement C4(P>0.05),and these parameters of the two groups were comparable.After treatment,the two groups showed no statistically significant differences in SLEDAI score,ESR,CRP,complement C3 and complement C4(P>0.05).Hormonal reduction:After treatment,the two groups showed no statistically significant differences in hormonal reduction.Safety: Mild diarrhea occurred in 2 patients of the experimental group and was relieved spontaneously after dosage regulation;the laboratory indexes had no significant changes,the two groups showed no difference in adverse reactions(P>0.05),and the safety was satisfactory.Conclusion:1.Fleece-flower root hormone-reducing granules can effectively improve TCM syndromes and particularly relieve feverishness in palms and soles,dry mouth,night sweat and constipation.2.It can improve patient's central obesity and has a certain impact on fat distribution.3.Fleece-flower root hormone-reducing granules has no obvious therapeutic effect for SLE,which is possibly associated with the short intervention in this experiment.4.In the process of this study,no obvious adverse drug reactions were found,and the safety was good.5.Finally,fleece-flower root hormone-reducing granules can effectively improve hormone-induced adverse reactions.Fleece-flower root hormone-reducing granules is a safe and effective treatment method and has a good clinical value.
