[Objective]To compare the clinical efficacy of respiratory reinforcing and purging acupuncture method and routine acupuncture method in regulating yin qiao and yang qiao meridians for clinical efficacy of treatment for primary insomnia,to observe sleep quality and syndrome improvement in both groups, and to explore the origin of respiratory invigorating acupuncture method by studying literature. The specific manipulation, clinical application and action mechanism provides the optimized scheme for the clinical treatment of this disease, and then improve the sleeping state and the subjective life quality of the patients with primary insomnia.[Method]All 58 patients with primary insomnia who met the criterna except 2 patients who discontinued were divided randomly into two groups:the treatment group(n = 29,respiratory reinforcing and purging method group)and the control group(n= 29,routine acupuncture method group). In the treatment group, the respiratory reinforcing and reducing acupuncture method was combined with the tonifying and purging method through rotating, and the routine acupuncture method was used in the routine acupuncture group.Shenmai and Zhaohai were the main points used in the two groups, among which the Shenmai point was used as the cathartic method, and the Zhaohai was supplemented using the reinforcing method.Using syndrome differentiation, acupoints were selected accordingly and tonifying and purging method through rotating was used. The number of acupoints used in every treatment session for all patients in both groups were equal. There were 3 treatment sessions per week(two courses of treatment in total, one course of treatment was made up of 6 treatment sessions). The Pittsburgh Sleep quality Index scale(PSQI),Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS),Insomnia TCM Syndrome Integral Scale was used in both groups before treatment, after 6 times of treatment and after 12 times of treatment in order to compare the curative effects of both groups.,SPSS22.0 was used to analyse all data collected.P<0.05 shows that there was statistical significance in the difference of the results obtained.[Results]1.Before and after treatment, there was no significant difference between respiratory acupuncture group(treatment group)and routine acupuncture group(control group)in the total score of PSQI:after 6 times of treatment, there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).After 12 times of treatment, there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).There was a significant statistical difference between the two groups(P<001),and the PSQI score of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group, indicating that the sleep improvement of the two groups was basically the same after 6 times of acupuncture treatment. After 12 times of treatment, the overall improvement of sleep in the treatment group was better than that in the control group.2.Before and after treatment, the total effective rate was 96.6%in the respiratory acupuncture group and 72.4%in the routine acupuncture group, and there was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.01).The total effective rate of PSQI scale in the respiratory acupuncture group was 96.6%and that in the conventional acupuncture group was 72.4%before and after treatment, and there was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.01).The results showed that the curative effect of respiratory acupuncture group was better than that of routine acupuncture group.3.Before and after treatment, there was no significant difference in Insomnia TCM Syndrome Integral Scale score between respiratory acupuncture group and routine acupuncture group(P>0.05).4.Comparison of subjective sleep quality scores:there was significant difference between the two groups before and after treatment(P<0.05).5.Comparison of sleep latency:there was significant difference between the two groups before and after treatment(P<0.05).6.Comparison of sleep duration:there was significant difference between the two groups before and after treatment(P<0.05).7.Comparison of habitual sleep efficiency:there was significant difference between the two groups before and after treatment(P<0.01).8.Comparison of sleep disturbances:the sleep disturbances score in the respiratory acupuncture group was statistically significant before and after treatment(P<0.01),but there was no statistical significance in the routine acupuncture method group(P>0.05).The difference between the two groups after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.01),and there was a significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P<0.01).The results showed that the improvement of sleep disturbances was obvious in respiratory acupuncture group, but no significant improvement was found in routine acupuncture group.9.Comparison of SDS and SAS scale scores before and after treatment:before treatment, after 6 times of treatment, and after 12 times of treatment, the difference of SAS,SDS scale scores was statistically significant in each group(P<0.01).There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).[Conclusion]1.Respiratory reinforcing and reducing acupuncture method and routine reinforcing and purging acupuncture method in purging Shenmai and tonifying Zhaohai to regulate yin qiao and yang qiao meridians had a highly significant curative effect towards improving the overall sleep state, sleep latency, sleep duration, habitual sleep efficiency and subjective sleep quality of the patients with primary insomnia.2.The curative effect of respiratory reinforcing and purging acupuncture method on improving the overall sleep state of patients with primary insomnia and the evaluation of sleep in every dimension was obviously better than that of routine acupuncture method, and the difference of curative effect gradually increased with the increase of acupuncture treatment sessions.3.The respiratory reinforcing and purging acupuncture method significantly improved the related symptoms of sleep disturbances in patients with primary insomnia, while there was no improvement on the related symptoms of sleep disturbances when routine reinforcing and purging acupuncture method was used.4.Both the respiratory reinforcing and purging acupuncture method and routine reinforcing and purging acupuncture method improved the Insomnia TCM Syndrome Integral Scale score, and the effects were similar.5.Respiratory reinforcing and purging acupuncture method and routine reinforcing and reducing acupuncture method in regulating yin qiao and yang qiao meridians significantly improved the anxiety and depression state of the patients with primary insomnia, and both the improvement levels were similar.
