Purpose:To explore the prescription of Kuijiekang pill,an empirical prescription for ulcerative colitis(UC),based on the etiology, pathogenesis and clinical experience of the instructor, and to evaluate the clinical efficacy, safety and recidivity of Kuijiekang pill in the treatment of chronic recurrent UC by observing its clinical efficacy,so as to provide clinical basis for the future clinical application of Kuijiekang pill in the treatment of UC.Material and method: This article is divided into two parts: clinical observation and theoretical discussion. From October 2016 to June 2018,60 cases of chronic recurrent UC patients treated with Kuijiekang Pill in the outpatient and ward of Spleen and Gastroenterology Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected. The course of treatment was 12 weeks. The changes of TCM symptom score and enteroscopy were observed by the principle of control before and after treatment. The changes of lower colon mucosa integral, adverse reactions and recurrence rate were evaluated. In theory, based on the etiology and pathogenesis of traditional Chinese medicine, the mentor’s idea of treating UC was discussed, and the compatibility of Kuijiekang pills was analyzed.Results:1.Clinical research results: General data: The average age of 60 patients was(45.08+19.72)years old,and the ratio of male to female was 1.61:1.The shortest course of disease was 1 year and the longest was 15 years, with an average of(7.55 + 1.24)years.Evaluation of curative effect: After 12 weeks of treatment with Kuijiekang Pill, the scores of main and minor symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine were significantly decreased compared with those before treatment(P < 0.05).The total effective rate of traditional Chinese medicine was96.67%.There were 9 cases of clinical recovery,36 cases of marked effect and 13 cases of effective, and 2 wireless cases. The score of colonoscopic mucosa decreased, and there was a statistical difference between before and after treatment(P < 0.05);21 cases were markedly effective,35 cases were effective and 4 cases were ineffective after colon mucosa treatment. The total effective rate was 93.33%.There were 7 cases of clinical recovery,38 cases of marked effect,11 cases of effective and 4 cases of wireless.Evaluation of recurrence: 1 case lost follow-up,6 cases relapsed, the symptoms were mild, the recurrence rate was 10.17%.Safety evaluation: Clinical observation was safe without any adverse reactions.2.The results of theoretical analysis: the basic pathogenesis of UC is deficiency of the spleen, deficiency of the body, retention of damp-heat in the intestine, stagnation of Qi and blood, and mixture of deficiency and excess.Kuijiekang pill is a traditional Chinese medicine preparation prepared by the tutor who inherits the effective experience of Professor Wang Changhong,a famous veteran TCM doctor. In view of its etiology and pathogenesis,Kuijiekang pill is dissolved into one prescription by various methods, such as invigorating the spleen, clearing heat, dispelling dampness and activating blood circulation. Conclusion:Kuijiekang pill is reasonable in formulation, with definite clinical effect, rapid relief of symptoms, convenient to take and no obvious adverse reactions. It is worthy of further promotion and application.
