Research On Health Information Acquisition And Health Behavior Promotion Of Migrant Female Workers From The Perspective Of Urban Integration

The health of migrant workers is a weakness of health for public health.Migrant workers' health is declining.Female rural migrant workers face the harder dilemma owing to their gender,class and seasonal migration.To understand their conception of health,information search behavior and factors connected with health promotion is not only related to the improvement of female migrant workers' personal health and quality of life,but also closely related to full coverage of health and medical services and the realization of the goal of “healthy China”.However,the current researches on the health of female migrant workers are mainly based on quantitative method and followed the traditional medical framework,lacking the understanding of the internal conception and voice.Under the situation and research limitations above,this thesis takes the female migrant workers working in the fur processing plants in Beijing and Haining as an example and applies in-depth interview method to explore the characteristics of their conception and behavior.An attempt was made to answer the question that whether the urban life and media using promote the health concepts and behaviors of female migrant workers.This thesis presents the living conditions of female migrant workers and their physical and mental health dilemmas,and analyzes their health information contact behaviors.It is found that,influenced by objective conditions,education level,self-perceived health and other factors,health information demand is in the secondary position of the overall information demand of female migrant workers.Disease query is the main motivation and disease prevention information receives less attention.However,the information from the few key individuals may provide the long-term and direct impact on their health concept and behavior.The health information avoidance is found during the interview.This mainly lies on income and the avoidance of possible adverse consequences.At the same time,owing to the limited contact with urban life,urban life and media do not play an important role in promoting their health concepts and behaviors.The higher wages which connected with economic integration does not synchronously promote the integration and progress of their health concept and health behavior.Multiple factors affect the interaction between economic integration and health integration.The thesis also proposes corresponding improvement measures for the problems above.
