A Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Diarrhea-type Irritable Bowel Syndrome With Acupoint Application Method Of Jianpi Wenshen Pabu

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of point-application of spleen-strengthening and kidney-warming cataplasm on diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-D).Methods:146 IBS-D cases with spleen-kidney yang deficiency syndrome were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group,and were treated with point-application of spleen-strengthening and kidney-warming cataplasm and placebo respectively.The course of treatment was 4 weeks and the follow-up was 4 weeks after treatment.The score of the IBS symptom severity scale(IBS-SSS),TCM syndrome index(Symptom Score),IBS-D defection state questionnaire(DSQ),quality of life score(IBS-QOL scale)and IBS-SSS efficacy,syndrome efficacy and stool trait efficacy were all observed.Results:1.General situation:Following inclusion and exclusion criteria,a total of 146 patients were included,including 73 patients in the observation group and 73 patients in the control group,who all completed treatment and follow-up.2.IBS-SSS score and efficacy:Before treatment,there were no statistically significant differences in abdominal pain and discomfort,duration of abdominal pain onset,abdominal distension,satisfaction with defecation,interference of intestinal symptoms on life and total score between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,abdominal pain and discomfort,duration of abdominal pain onset,abdominal distension,satisfaction with defecation,the interference of intestinal symptoms on life,and the total score all decreased(P<0.05),and the decrease was more significant in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of IBS-SSS in the observation group and the control group was 94.52%and 50.68%,respectively,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.TCM syndrome score and efficacy:Before treatment,there were no statistically significant differences in stool property,number of diarrhea,abdominal pain,abdominal distension,and TCM syndrome score between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,stool property,number of diarrhea,abdominal pain,abdominal distension,and TCM syndrome score all decreased(P<0.05),and the decrease was more significant in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of IBS-SSS in the observation group and the control group was 94.52%and 50.68%,respectively,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.Stool property score and efficacy:Before treatment,there were no statistically significant differences in the maximum number of defecation,the number of defecation urgency days in the 10 days,and the stool property score between the two groups(P>0.05)After treatment,the maximum number of defecation,the number of defecation urgency days in the 10 days,and the stool property score all decreased(P<0.05),and the decrease was more significant in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of stool property were 87.67%and 35.61%respectively,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05)5.Quality of life score:After 4 weeks of treatment,the life quality score of 2 groups were significantly higher,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the observation group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05)Conclusion:Point-application of spleen-strengthening and kidney-warming cataplasm on IBS-D can alleviate the main clinical symptoms of patients,reduce the score of TCM syndrome,improve the property of stool,and improve the quality of life.At the same time,it shows that point-application of spleen-strengthening and kidney-warming cataplasm has a comprehensive and integral therapeutic effect on the IBS-D with spleen-kidney yang deficiency syndrome.The results of this study proved that point-application of spleen-strengthening and kidney-warming cataplasm has achieved a good effect in the treatment of IBS-D,and indicated that point-application of spleen-strengthening and kidney-warming cataplasm has a good prospect in the treatment of IBS-D.
