Since the modern history,the discovery and excavation of a great many tombs of Han Dynasty have provided plentiful visual materials for the researchers.Experts in different disciplines such as archaeology,history,art history etc.have done some reseaches on the Tomb art of the Han Dynasty and achieved many important results.Japan is the center of overseas C hinese studies and the history of research on Tomb art of the Han Dynasty covers about 100 years since the 20th Century.Up to now,there is no specific academic thesis focusing on the overall research achievements and history of the Tomb art of the Han Dynasty made by Japanese experts.Therefore,it is necessary to give a brief and systematic introduction to the relavant academic achievements made by Japanese experts.The investigation and study of Tomb art of the Han Dynasty made by Japanese experts have the special historical background.Generally speaking,this is the branch of Chinese studies of Modern Japan.Besides,from the macroscopical aspect,this is a part of the Modern Japanese oriental studies.From the establishment of modern academic system to the beginning of the research on the Tomb art of the Han Dynasty,all the historical events have supplied the academic source and ideological background for the relevant research.Based on that,the Japanese experts have done the spot investigation in China on different disciplines before the Second World War.After the war,the academic system has reconstructed and the reseach themes have adjusted,which helped the relevant reseach in Japan superior to that in China.But after 60 years,the relevant reseach in Japan has gradually disc lined.In this thesis,on the aspects of research viewpoints and concerning fields,the author tries to break through the discussion on the restrict academic viewpoints in the past and lay the relevant research on the extensive historical background with the broader academic horizon by integrated combing the history of academic studies.Through the researches on the Tomb art of the Han Dynasty made by Japanese eperts,it is easy to find out the overall development and change of modern Japanese academia,especially in the field of Chinese studies,which will not only provide the necessary supplement and improvement to the research on the Tomb art of the Han Dynasty,but also be benefical to the overall study of the from both the research methodology and the concept.
