Chinese calligraphy and painting are sister arts, which have many shared characteristics in modeling language. These similarities in modelling language Mainly reflect in the shape, material, brushwork, texture, aesthetic appeal, the performance of content, the organization principle, the treatment of space, and so on.To investigate the sources of this,we find some reasons. To be specific,Chinese calligraphy and painting have the same sources, common tools(pens, ink, paper, inkstone),and emphasize the bone method of the brushwork, pursuing“pen feeling ink interest”and“lively”,etc.Through the analysis of calligraphy and painting modelling language of Ba Da Shan-ren,it can be seen that he is using the seal character to mold the ink line, and the line is mainly the result of the pen center, which reveals a strong sense of movement and flowing rhythm. His calligraphy and painting is good at using“tender ink",emphasizing on the contrast of differences and the overall dynamic harmony.Such aesthetic characteristics is partly due to the form reason.Besides,it also reflects Ba Da Shan-ren' s art state of Floating Left The Dust.
