My Opinion On The Decline Of Freehand Flower-and-bird Painting In Today's Chinese Painting World

The spirit of abstract is the most ethnic important character in Chinese painting which wouldn't perish with the changing times.It has been an indisputable fact that bird-and-flower painting,the remarkable representative of the spirit of Chinese painting,is facing an awkward situation in national exhibition in recent years.In this article,it explains "abstract" and "the spirit of abstract",aims to express that "the spirit of abstract" conveys the endless life spirit,national spirit of ceaselessly self-improvement and emphasizes the spirit of creation in conveying emotions.There are four factors to the declination of Bird-and-flower painting:1.impact of western painting;2.the restrictions of education mechanism;3.constraints of its own characters;4.influence of exhibition.In the end,the article will come to a conclusion that we have to stay pragmatic,creative and practice in reality in order to promote the spirit of abstract in Chinese painting,revive and explore new thought in bird-and-flower painting.
