The Establishment And Significance Of The Photographic Image Database

As an extension way of human's viewing and a recording medium,especially in today's digital age,photography has been deeply integrated into our daily life.The popularity of digital photography has led to the proliferation of photos.But it doesn't have any derogatory sense from the perspective of image database.Because we have a lot of empirical photographs of fragmentation as the raw material for the historical record.When we store these fragments of empirical photographs in a safe and permanent way,comb and metadata annotation according to the certain logic,then the users can use accurate retrieval,correct interpretation and comparison of information visualization,so that the value hidden by this fragmentation can be seen again.First of all,this paper discusses the changes of photography in the digital and Internet era,which leads to the expectation to solve the problem of photo information flooding and fragmentation by establishing image database.Secondly,through the discussion of different types of empirical photos,it is established that all kinds of photos have the function of "evidence",which makes them the main resources applicable to the photographic image database.Then,through the case analysis of the existing image database websites and combining the current situation and demands,the basic structure of the photographic image database as historical data is established.Finally,the author expounds the benefit of establishing the image database from several aspects,which are the anthropology and sociology research,photographers' vein combing,the stability of the photographic auction market and guiding photography concept.
