Research On The Value Mining Method Of Historical Images In The Digital Age

In the information age,photography,as a recording medium,has gradually become an extension of the way people watch and has penetrated into our daily life.In just over a hundred years since the birth of photography,our society has accumulated countless photos.In the transition from the traditional photography era to the digital photography era,photography methods and contents are also more diverse.If these large numbers of photos are sorted out and submitted to an orderly data file,these seemingly mixed images can become important realistic historical materials jointly established and written by social citizens.At the same time,the development of image database is also a process of sublating itself.This new field is the integration of various disciplines and paradigms.Historical photos are empirical,but at the same time they are uncertain.However,the multi-dimensional nature of data based on the digital historical image database can make the historical facts shown by photos clearer and more specific.At the same time,enriching and perfecting the historical photos themselves with multi-angle information sources such as text,audio frequency,geography,time,etc.can increase our degree of restoration of historical events.Such a function cannot be achieved by the paper-based picture library.Labeling characters,things,regions,countries,state of things,behaviors and so on in historical empirical images are all important topics in humanistic research.The historical image database is the docking and integration of resources between the traditional photography era and the digital photography era.These together constitute the research object of digital image archives.Based on the research results of the "Historical Image Database" project jointly carried out by the Institute of Photography and Technology of the Media Institute of Nanjing University of Arts and other universities,this paper attempts to further explore the structure,function and characteristics of the existing historical image database.With more than 60,000 historical images collected by the author as the analysis object,the research is carried out in the form of database,and the historical research value contained therein is mined.
