Zhang Guangyu's Font Art Design Research

The object of this article is the design of Zhang Guangyu's lettering art.Zhang Guangyu was born in the beginning of twentieth Century and experienced three historical periods of the late Qing Dynasty,the Republic of China,and the new China.China's modern lettering art has undergone three times of theory and practice in 1930 s,50s,the wave of 80 s,which is the middle of the 30 s peak,Zhang Guangyu is one of the pioneer,so that Zhang Guangyu is Chinese design font in the modern sense of the first batch of art practitioners.He has been involved in many art fields such as painting,illustrations,decorative paintings,advertising design,packaging design,stage art,comics,furniture design,animation and fine arts,and has continuously absorbed the traditional and new artistic ideas and expressions at home and abroad.Conversion to his life in the stage,the apprentice draughtsman,cartoonist,designer,partner,publisher,Professor of multiple occupation identity between.Zhang Guangyu,who is omnipotent in the field of art,is hailed by Zhang Ding as "the pride of Asians in the decoration art of Mr.Zhang Guangyu." Looking at Zhang Guangyu's experience of typeface art,we can comb through the gains and losses of Chinese character lettering art under the complex era background and its significance of modern reference.This article first analyzes the background of Zhang Guangyu's font art from three aspects: Zhang Guangyu's family background,printing and publishing industry,the trend of literature and art in the twentieth Century and the new type of text and media.Secondly,by combing Zhang Guangyu's experience and practice with the creation of fonts and its legend,it analyzes the three aspects of the practical works of font design from the perspectives of form,technique and style,trying to find out the regularity and characteristics of its artistic style.It also hopes to use the principle of visual narrative to try to analyze the possibility of visual narrative in the form aesthetic point of view.Finally,it tries to make the font practice based on Zhang Guangyu font and explore the feasibility of font font development.
