| Zhang Guangyu is one of the most accomplished cartoonists in modern China and one of the founders of Chinese decorative art."Folk love songs" is a series of comics created by Zhang Guangyu in the 1930 s.This work vividly shows the simple young men and women in love songs.At the same time,it not only contains the characteristics of folk art,but also attempts to modern art,which has a deep impact on later comics,illustrations,decorative paintings and other works.The first part of this study combs the transformation of the theme,object and style of Zhang Guangyu’s comic works in the period of the Republic of China,and preliminarily constructs the evolution process of Zhang Guangyu’s comic artistic style.The second part takes Zhang Guangyu’s representative comic work《Folk love songs》 as the research object,first analyzes the evolution process of the private love song as the text of folk love song from obscene things to mass culture,then explores Zhang Guangyu’s artistic motivation to create poetry as comics,and studies some images such as characters,animals and scenery in folk love song,It also compares it with other works created by Zhang Guangyu and the works of cartoonists at the same time,deconstructs the mutual influence of these works on Zhang Guangyu in style and emotion,and summarizes and expounds its artistic value from the perspectives of communication and iconology.In the third part,by absorbing the artistic style and creative characteristics of Zhang Guangyu’s folk love songs and other comic works,and integrating the modern illustration art drawing techniques,a series of illustrations of "A fantasy dream of Red Mansions" are preliminarily designed to show the visual effect of traditional style and modern techniques in illustration design.The research results have certain reference value for inheriting and carrying forward Zhang Guangyu’s cartoon art and enriching the visual expression forms of illustration in the new era. |
