This paper selects the disease and medicine writing in the novel texts(including original novels and translated novels)published in the Prophase "monthly Fiction"(1910-1920)as the research object, combined with the historical background of the collision of Chinese and Western cultures and the social transformation at that time."exclusion"and "processing",with a view to further thinking and discussing the problems of modern China. The first chapter discusses the disease and the writing of medicine under the concept of traditional Chinese medicine.Old social vulgarity, family problems, political instability and official corruption made the disease point to the "sick society." The loss, struggle and awakening of the underclass people, women and traditional literati are also manifested in the form of disease reality. There is also a critique of ethics and morality:when the "inner" mind is "incorrect",it inevitably turns"outside" into a form of disease, showing the traditional spiritual and cultural core of "the unity of nature and man".This kind of spiritual core has more detailed embodiment in the writing of traditional medicine, but also shows its harmful side because of deficiency. The second chapter discusses the disease and medical writing under the concept of western medicine. In the writing of the disease,it shows the opposing idea of "matter and me" in the western style, spreads the"scientific" idea which can break down "superstition",and shows a set of thinking mode that is completely opposite to that of China. That is to measure the "internal" state of human nature by "external" disease, and pay more independent attention to human mental illness. At the same time, the western medical concept and system, the division of labor of medical care, the treatment of "invasive" and "non-natural" western medicine also began to enter the field of vision of the Chinese public. But it also makes Chinese intellectuals with no scientific basis overestimate Western medicine. The role of the "misreading" and "alienation".The third chapter mainly combs the mixed idea of Chinese and Western diseases and medicine writing. With regard to the introduction of Western culture,Chinese traditional culture has its own "processing","accepting" and "transforming" and even "exclusion".Of course, there is the concept of "combination of China and the West" which has been passed on to this day. Both make modern Chinese and western medicine concepts show the characteristics of "mixed".On the basis of the first three chapters, the fourth chapter reconsiders the problems of modern China caused by disease and medicine.First of all,the writing of disease reality directly points to the "sick society",that is,the morbid society.Faced with this kind of "morbid",intellectuals still"take the world as their own duty" to cure the "morbid" of China. At the same time,it can not be cured of the disease of the microcosm of the society.Secondly,it is the thinking of "freedom"(individual awakening)under the condition of disease.Disease is the externalization of "not free"of "feeling",and the search for freedom is focused on the promotion of"inside" in China and the restriction on "outside" in the west. The last thing to note is,in modern times,Western culture is two-way communication, the final state is "mixed",and this "mixed" spread to this day.
