Research On The Famous Words In "Mengxi Bi Tan"

"Meng Xi Bi Tan" was honoured as "a milestone in the history of Chinese science" by Joseph Terence Montgomery Needhama,a British famous scientific historian.Shen Kuo noted literature,history,and art,he also wrote a lot of article about the development of ancient Chinese natural sciences and the invention of science and technology,including astronomy,calendar,arithmetic,physics,geology,biology,chemistry,traditional Chinese medicine,metallurgy and so on."Meng Xi Bi Tan" is a distinctive and important dating book of the history of names,exegesis nouns.This paper collated and researched nouns of "Meng Xi Bi Tan".The article starts with 547 nouns,carrying out the rules for naming,and studying nouns as selection rules.Then,the paper explores Shen Kuo's terms of nouns from three aspects:the explanation of terms of nouns,the explanation of derivative nouns and the philosophical spirit of interpretation of Shen Kuo's terms of nouns.The paper is divided into the following four sections:Chapter ?:Introduction.In this part,we introduced Shen Kuo's life,"Meng Xi Bi Tan" content discussion and version,comprehensively combing the "Meng Xi Bi Tan" research status,including the status of his book research,nouns and the research status of nouns,clarifying the significance and research methods of this paper.Chapter ?:The research on the nouns of "Meng Xi Bi Tan".Based on the contents of "Mengxi Bibi",the first section explores Shen Kuo's research on nouns,comprehensively refers to various statements,and combines the needs of the study of this article to define the semantic criteria for the title of this article;Clarified the basis and principle for the classification of nouns.Clarified the basis and method for theclassification of famous names,and based on the text of "Meng Xi Bi Tan" And exhaustively collected nouns in "Meng Xi Bi Tan".Statistically derived 547 nouns.For reference,fourteen types of famous words were divided,namely,astrology,geography,human body,spinning,crown,equipment,palace,boats,Stylistics,musical instruments arithmetic,plants,animals,and medical stone.This chapter also discusses the hierarchy and formation mechanism of Shen Shuming's system of types of objects;Chapter ?:The textual research of nouns in "Meng Xi Bi Tan".In this chapter,through the records of"Meng Xi Bi Tan",explores the etymology of 33 nouns,and classifies 33 nouns into eight types of motivation:namely,motivational motives,image motives,attribute arguments,quality materials,and production methods.Reasons,spatial reasons,vociferous arguments,and comprehensive arguments;Then a detailed analysis of the characteristics of Shen Kuo's exegesis of nouns.Based on the conclusions of the research of the textual research,the 33 nouns were classified to obtain 39 kinds of naming options elements.After researching,visual names based on image and material are the predominant ones,followed by functional arguments,and potential reasons such as space,system,and attributes are ranked last.Chapter IV:The research of exegetical nouns in "Meng Xi Bi Tan".This chapter analyzes Shen Kuo's the interpretive postures,methods and exegetical terms of nouns,including the study of traditional exegetics,the integration of natural science knowledge and the usage of experiments to verify.The paper summarized the terminological interpretation terms of "Meng Xi Bi Tan":Shen Kuo's exegetical nouns values:the definition term and the term of exegetical terms and phonetic terminology.In addition,the paper analyzes and summarizes the philosophical thoughts of Shen Kuo's exegetical nouns:the separation of heaven and man,and rationalism.
