A Study On Exegesis About Names And Description Of Things In Tong Ya

As its significant academic value, Tong Ya began to receive more and moreattention and the research gradually expand and deepen in recent years. This articlefrom the perspective of exegesis about names and description of things to study TongYa, looking forward to play a complementary role to the sense of research.The first part was introduction. Firstly, we introduced the life of Fang Yi Zhiand his work. Secondly, we summed up the overall research about Tong Ya. Finallywe addressed the significance of the subject and research methods. Chapter I weintroduced the standard of entity nouns on the basis of predecessors’ research resultsand counted things of categories in Tong Ya. Chapter II summed up Tong Ya’sachievements in relationship between name and content of entity nouns. This partincluded two sections. The first section introduced the research of name of entitynouns, including exploring the origin of the name, the sorts of synonym, differentname with reality and real synonymic. The second section introduced the content ofthe entity nouns, including the description of objects’ shape, function and evolution.Chapter III focused on the methods of hermeneutics in the entity nouns interpreting,including seeking meanings from pronunciation, comparing mutual certificates,document verification, dialects and cultures. Chapter IV discussed the historicalvalue, lexicography and cultural values. Also addressed some problems such asciting paper is not enough professional, classification is not so scientific, interpretingis not so rigorous and so on.
