Research On Central Document Translation From The Perspective Of Communication Studies

In the past,the theoretical perspective of studies on party literature is mainly composed of traditional translation theory of manipulation theory,teleology,functional equivalence theory,domestication/alienation theory,and critical discourse analysis theory.This paper tries to study the party literature translation in the light of communication with the case of Xi Jinping:The Governance of China,aiming to provide new perspectives and explore more translation methods for party literature translation.The paper firstly presents the previous study on translation and communication as well as the party literature translation conditions.On the basis of Lv Jun's study of translation and communication and Lasswell's 5W modal,Chapter three analyzes the five elements of translator,source text,communication channel,receptor,and communication effect in the book of Xi Jinping:The Governance of China.In Chapter four,the thesis analyzes the translation methods applied in China's characteristics discourse system in the book of Xi Jinping:The Governance of China for its close relation with party and government literature.In Chapter five,the translation strategies for party literature translation are summarized from the perspectives of translators' capability,receptor-oriented translation,and collaborative translation.In conclusion,apart from the translators' efforts and the faithful representatives of the source text,the target text of party literature should also be understood and acceptable by foreign receptors for better communication effect in foreign countries.
