Objective:To investigate the attentional bias to emotional information in college students with optimistic and pessimistic attributional style during suffering frustration situation. Methods:The 86 college students joined the experiment, including 42 optimistic panticipants and 44 pessimistic panticipants.By using ASQ to divide the participants into two groups(optimistic group/pessimistic group). The frustration situation was used to induce participants's frustrating emotion. The 2(cue validity,valid/invalid)X 3(emotional words,positive/negative/neutral)X 2(attributional style, optimistic group/pessimistic group)hybrid design was used to investigate the attentional bias to emotional information in college students with optimistic and pessimistic attributional style duringsuffering frustration situation, adopting the cue-target paradigm.Results:(1)In optimistic group, the reaction time of valid positive words was faster than the reaction of valid neutral words;(2)In optimistic group, the reaction time of valid negative words was faster than the reaction of valid neutral words;(3)In pessimistic group, the reaction time of valid positive words was faster than the reaction of valid neutral words.Conclusion:(1)In frustration situation, the optimistic attributional college students had attention vigilance towards positive emotion words and negative emotion words. It means the optimistic attributional college students have their particular selective attention strategy and aware of surrounding negative emotion information;(2)At the same time,in frustration situation, the pessimistic attributional college students also had attention vigilance towards negative emotion information. It means that pessimistic would adopt self-protective mechanisms during suffering frustration situation, and filter negative emotion information by biased method.
