Research On Wu Yinxian's Photographic Works In The Historical Turning Point

Based on the previous research results,by studying Chinese great master of photography Yinxian Wu's artistic works during the three period of "Shanghai","Yan'an" and "after the founding of the PRC",this study attempts to analyze the close association between personal life of art and historical discourse,social environment,with the methods of photographic language,image semiotics,visual culture research,etc.The first chapter firstly does the technical analysis on photography noumenon language of Wu's works during "Shanghai period".And clearly manifest his conversion of photographic theory and aesthetic concept,by discussing the social reasons and historical paving which bring his humanistic spirit and red thoughts.The second chapter detailedly studies Wu's photographic exploration as a "Red photographer"during "Yan'an period".After he came to Yan'an,his photographic concept had been changed by the inspiration of Shafei's "theory of photographic weapons" and Chairman Mao zedong's Talks on the Yan'an forum on literature and art.He took calling the masses into the patriotic national salvation movement,encouraging the people and soldiers in the war,constructing the CCP leader's image as the primary task,and kept maintaining the balance between politic and art.Secondly,it deeply analyzes the four usual themes of Yinxian Wu,Shafei and Guangda Luo,etc to study how to achieve the aim of cultural propaganda in a imperceptible way.Finally,it studies the political nature in leader's portrait and how to construct the image by technical ways,it also indicates that this has a strong impact on the authenticity of political photography nowadays.The third chapter studies Wu's spectacle photography which demonstrates the social construction after the founding of the PRC.In Wu's career,he had been insisting on red spirit in his works.He worked on his set Great Hall of the people,Beijing hotel,which has a strong ideology.In China,its contemporaneity and pioneer spirit brings a great upsurge of the studies and practice in the area of spectacle photography.
