This study attempts to research on the basis of senior scholar, with the method of image semiotic and take Yinxian Wu’s photography for the study. While study the value of its content and literature, and analyze its concept photography and photographic style at the same time, with the method of image semiotic, analysis symbolic image, explain image codes of Wu’s photography so that to construct its meaning and social value in Yan’an period.First, this paper collected Wu’s photography in Yan’an period, and began to study from the perspective of image semiotics.Based on this, we distinguished three aspects of Wu’s photography in Yan’an period which visual symbols including "Icon, index symbol" "metaphor, metonymy symbol "and "symbolic symbol" three levels from low to high-Then, according to the characterization of the different ways, and clissified static image on its spread symbols, and take Wu’s photography in Yan’an period for example.Next, it placed photography on the dynamic relations between both sides of communication. In the symbol encoding process, I put forward the how tocenfirm the topic and content in three steps, in the use of symbol elements such as light, depthoffied and angle.Finally, I analysis the social significance, practical value and theoretical value of their literature photography, and the influence on Contemporary documentary photography and art photography of Wu’s photography in Yan’an period,...
