There exist some characteristics about the identity system in the middle ages of China,that is the separation between the nobility and the commoners from the social ruling hierarchy and the distinction between common people and dalits from ruled class.The material of Liangjian identity in documents from Turfan and Dunhuang have important historical value for relevant research.On the basis of teasing whole Dunhuang-Turfan manuscripts,in this thesis the first two chapters have sortted and intouduced the material about Liangjian identiy,with the value of the servile data and the identity of Enzi in Jingtu Monastery mainly discussed in Chapter Three and the article concluded in Chapter Four.In Dunhuang-Turpan documents there exist ahout 150 Dunhuang Chinese documents in connection with slaves and kakibe.On the basis of contents they can be divided into five types:contract,census register,government documents,daily files and literary works.The number of Turfan manuscripts in connection with slaves and kakibe is approximately 100,they can be divided into four types:contract,census register,government documents and daily files.Nine Dunhuang doucuments and 13 manuscripts discovered in Turpan and surrounding areas are connected with slaves,Sier,Jingren,Shiren and Jiaren.There are 41 documents related to Dunhuang Sihu and permanent residents,which can be divided into three categories:contract,official document and accounting manuscript.Besides,data collection related to Shepherd,Yuanzi and Enzi had by authour,with identities of the shepherd recorded in Dunhuang documents analysied.The data related to slaves in Dunhuang-Turpan documents have many aspects of values to the correlatived research,with the status of Jingren and slaves in Dunhuang temples,the cultivation of the slaves of Dunhuang monks and nuns,the status,servitude and living conditions of the slaves and other aspects of issues reflected.Enzi in Jingtu temple should be supposed to a group name rather than a name,as a consequence of profound influence of Buddhist thought of paying in Duhuang region.
