A Comparative Study Of The Musical Characteristics And Singing Of Contemporary English Art Songs

The creation of contemporary art songs is based on the extension of the classical German and Austrian schools.from the observation of styles and writing techniques,it has become rich and varied in evolving forms.the creation of songs has such techniques as unstable tone,colorful harmony changes,and transfer many times.these " 20 th century" music features are especially prominent.However,English art songs are a subject that cannot be ignored in the development of the whole art songs.The author believes that vocal music art songs such as Germany,Italy and France are indeed important categories for vocal music study and singing.before the development of the times,the precious literature of classical vocal music is still closely related to the production of modern vocal music works.This article discusses and analyzes the works of bel canto written by British or American composers from the perspective of exposition,and further analyzes the outstanding composers Vaughan Williams and Richard Hendry who are native speakers of English and are good at artistic song writing.Their lyricist of artistic songs is also a famous poet,writer,English writer and poet Robert Stevenson in modern times.James Purdy,American writer and poet;D.Luo Saidi,English poet and painter;Tagore,leader of Indian literature;English writer Shakespeare,etc.The combination of these famous people's poems and composers' excellent compositions ensures the value of English art songs.Based on the analysis of the two tracks of English art songs " Come ready and see me" and " The roadside fire",this paper combines the analysis and development of classical art songs and their own profound understanding in singing songs,and then explores the music characteristics and singing comparative study of contemporary English art songs.The body part is divided into three parts: the development of British music and American music;Artistic features of two English art songs;Interpretation of singing English art songs.The author uses spectral analysis method,comparison method,literature analysis method,graphic method,etc.Through analyzing the works of several English art songs and their singing experiences,this paper probes into the style and characteristics of English art songs and their singing comprehension,and puts forward some argumentation and reference suggestions.
