Research On Zheng Naijiu's Meticulous Flower And Bird Painting

Zheng Naiguang is one of the significant Flowers-and-Birds artists in late 20th century.He achieved great achievements in the field of painting,artistic education and social benefit.Zheng Naiguang lived a long life spanned two centuries.This thesis aims to analysis Zheng Naiguang's Flower-and-Bird paintings in the background of revolution,construction and reformation in the 20th century and theirs influence on his art.The thesis is divided into five different parts,which are based on the research method of Iconology and the research result of History.Through the analysis of the subject,colour,plastic,pen and ink in order to comb the traditional Flower-and-Bird painting's adjustment and transformation in the shock of Western culture and its influences on today's Flowers-and-Birds paintings.In the introduction I introduced the proposal and meaning of the statesment,the review of the scholarship and related materials,research method and the structure of this thesis.The first chapter illustrates the three decisive phases in Naiguang's life,which helped to form his artistic style.On the second chapter,I hoped to explore how did Naiguang inherit and develop the traditional Flowers-and-Birds painting regarding to the lines,writing and the relationship between figure and spirit respectively.The third chapter would fully and deeply explore the sketch,subject,colour and plastic of his meticulous Flowers-and-Birds paintings.These paintings stood for the highest quality of Chinese enjoyable Flowers-and-Birds paintings in the late of 20th century.The final chapter organized the times Naiguang went through and its impact on his works.In doing so,I make an outline of his position in art history.Through this study,I improved my understanding on Flowers-and-Birds paintings which has a direct influence on my graduation works.
